Next Sunday Pope Francis will declare Mother Teresa a saint, the very woman who fought Hillary Clinton tooth and nail for her abortion advocacy.
Before some 3,000 people at the National Prayer Breakfast at the Washington DC Hilton Hotel in 1994including pro-abortion Bill and Hillary Clinton, and Al and Tipper GoreMother Teresa spoke passionately about abortion, calling it the greatest destroyer of peace today, war against the child, and murder by the mother herself.
And if we accept that a mother can kill even her own child, how can we tell other people not to kill one another? the nun continued.
By abortion, the mother does not learn to love, but kills even her own child to solve her problems, she said. Any country that accepts abortion is not teaching its people to love, but to use any violence to get what they want. This is why the greatest destroyer of love and peace is abortion.
The swelling applause swept across the room, erupting into a standing ovation that lasted some five or six minutes.
The room was awash with clapping, with one conspicuous exception. At the head table, a few feet away from Mother Teresa, the Clintons and the Gores sat in stony silence, not clapping, not standing.

In a 1986 article titled Mother Teresa, the Woman of My Nightmares, a West Germany affiliate of Planned Parenthood ... wrote in an official publication, Sexualpedagogik:
You, you nightmare of women! [have] become for us the symbol of all that is bad in motherhood and womanhood, an image with which we do not wish to be associated. You unliberated, enslaved wives, mothers, nuns and aunts, what do you want from us, who have finally decided that we are going to take control of our bodies? the Planned Parenthood essay ran.

With this red menace loving Pope, the story might be true without the last three words in the headline.
Probably the latter.
They believe she’s a saint because of what she did. I’m know I’m a saint because of what HE did.
I love Mother Teresa.
And I am not even Roman Catholic!
Blessed Teresa of Calcutta had been beatified.
I think you’ve got it!
Theodore, I think that is a splendid idea. What a statement it would make.
They give their ALL for the love of God. THAT simply cannot be bought.
Makes proud of my Catholic faith.
Well you are the first Catholic I’ve ever encountered who says, perhaps unwittingly, that a person is made a saint by God’s will, which is precisely what Scripture teaches. Most trumpet their own free will choice to believe. And what a sad thing to live your life and not know with certainty you are eternally secure when the Bible teaches we can have utter assurance.
You’re exactly right; it was the pope who died in 2005 the day after Terri Schiavo was exterminated.
Really? A Catholic saint?
No, just another Vatican II "saint".
I guess you only talk to Catholics who don't know their faith.
And what a sad thing to live your life and not know with certainty you are eternally secure when the Bible teaches we can have utter assurance.
I guess Paul led a sad life. (See Philippians 3:13, 1 Cor 9:27, 1 Cor 15:1-2, etc.)
Uh-oh! Are we going down the TULIP laden path!?
Just remember to stop and smell the roses sometime. I think St. Theresa would make such stops now and then.
Maybe have her declared a martyr, not a saint.
So you are telling me that Rome doesn’t teach that man must cooperate with God’s grace? I know that she does. What I’m telling you is the Bible teaches we are saved wholly by God’s grace. If He begins a work of grace in you He will bring it to completion. Please read and pray over Phillipians 1:6 and Hebrews 12:2.
Not one of those verses you named teaches a man who has been truly born again cannot have assurance of salvation. See I know I’ve been born again because I’m not the man I was and not by anything I’ve done. I love things I never loved and I hate things I used to love. My life was turned upside down. The Bible truth is Jesus has already obtained redemption for believers. Catholicism denies this by teaching: “The work of our redemption is carried on” every time the Eucharist is celebrated (CCC, 1405). God’s Word declares: “He [Jesus] entered the holy place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption” (Heb. 9:12). “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace” (Eph. 1:7).
Part of the reason Catholics don’t understand what the Bible teaches on assurance is that they don’t understand the way of salvation. Rome essentially teaches that you must save yourself by paying for your own sins. Why do you call Jesus the Savior when you must save yourself? Catholicism teaches the sinner must “make satisfaction for” or “expiate” his sins through “penance.” (1459) “In this way they attained their own salvation and cooperated in saving their brothers” (1477). God’s Word proclaims “There is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven given among men, by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).
Why do you believe a place called Purgatory can purify your sins? God’s Word says “when He [Jesus] had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high (Hebrews 1:3). “He gave Himself for us to... purify for Himself a people for His own possession” (Titus 2:14). “The blood of Jesus...cleanses us from all sin” (1 John 1:7). These verses destroy the myth of Purgatory. Yet the Vatican continues to deceive Catholics by teaching they “must undergo purification [in Purgatory] to achieve the holiness necessary to enter the joy of heaven” (CCC, 1030).
Did you know that whenever you believe a doctrine, you must also forsake that which opposes it?
Scripture reveals that Jesus saves...
by faith in Him, not baptism
by His grace, not our merit
by His finished work, not our works
by His righteousness, not ours
by His one offering for sin, not the Mass
by His blood, not purgatory
by His obedience, not ours
by His Gospel, not man’s perversion of it
Which Jesus will you trust?
The Jesus of the Bible promises eternal life, the complete forgiveness of sins, a permanent right standing with God and the power to live a victorious life. The Catholic Jesus is a Jesus that was never preached by the Apostles (2 Cor. 11:4). This counterfeit Christ provides only conditional life, partial forgive- ness of sins, an ongoing need for priests and mediators, uncertainty, fear and doubt. Those who reject the true Jesus, who is clearly and conclusively revealed in His Word, will be judged accordingly. The Lord Jesus Christ said, “The word I spoke is what will judge him at the last day” (John 12:48).
What a shame that anti-Catholic hatred blinds one to positive movements such as this.
Christ "It is finished."
No, he was joyous and focused on winning the prize for completing the race. Not about salvation. He is writing in the first two references about rewards.
The last is clear. His readers were being saved, unless they had really never exercised faith in Christ.
I would suggest to you or anyone else, that picking a verse out of its context and then applying it to a different topic, is a recipe for failure. We are all susceptible to this, unless we "study to show ourselves approved, rightly handling the Word of Truth."
