Episcopal Divinity School will cease to grant degrees at the end of the upcoming academic year, the seminarys board of trustees decided July 21 on a 11-4 vote. During the next year, the board will explore options for EDSs future, some of which were suggested by a specially convened Futures Task Force to make plans for EDSs future.
A school that has taken on racism, sexism, heterosexism, and multiple interlocking oppressions is now called to rethink its delivery of theological education in a new and changing world, said the Very Rev. Gary Hall 76, chairman of the board, in introducing the resolution. Ending unsustainable spending is a matter of social justice.
Translation: Having abandoned anything to do with orthodox Christianity, we find that we have made ourselves completely irrelevant. If we spin our theological and financial bankruptcy as a sign of our virtue, maybe we wont look so bad.
A sampling of courses from the current EDS catalogue:
HB CS 4152 Liberating Bible Interpretations, Antiracist, and White Identity: Approaches to Reading Scripture
What makes an interpretation of the Bible liberating? For whom? When? Where? We will explore how various stages of racial identity development and awareness present challenges to our reading of the texts and each other, in order to develop antiracist and other anti-oppression strategies for preaching and teaching from scripture. Critical Race Theory and Critical White Studies shall inform our primary focus on racial identity of white readers while also looking at other culturally dominant features of identity in the interpretive process of biblical texts. T PT 2165 Mission, Ministry, and Sacraments: Re-visioning the Church Inside-Out
This course seeks to construct a theology of the church the essential nature of which is its inside-turned-outness for the life of the world. In the light of this basic stance of a church as a peopleexternally focused and Gods- Reign orienteda theological re-visioning of the central elements of the churchs sacramental life, worship, wit- ness, and ministry is undertaken. A central question is how we can recover the basic calling of the church to be a sign and instrument of a God-intended alternative humanity and an agent of transformation in a world characterized by oppressive, exclusivist, and fragmenting forces. Faith-filled resistance, compassionate solidarity, and creative hope shall serve as significant categories in such a re-visioning. Gosh, I cannot imagine why they cant sustain enough interest among the faithful to stay open. Last year, EDSs president, an abortion rights activist and lesbian who married her partner at Bostons Episcopal cathedral, resigned. She once stood outside an abortion clinic and saying that abortion is a blessing.
If I were a billionaire, I would buy the EDS buildings in Cambridge, Mass., and turn them over to the Anglican Archbishop of Nigeria. After an exorcism, naturellement.
It's all so simple: The Very Rev. Katherine Ragsdale is a minion of Satan.
Some stories write themselves...
The WORST thing she believes in is that “abortion is a blessing.” Yikes. That comes straight from the mouth of Satan.
That course is from the Portlandia series right? Man that show is hilarious! Wait. This is real? Really?
Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. Isaiah 5:20
Many churches have willingly bowed down to liberalism and adopted it, in violation of human nature.
Martin Luther was a heretic and this is the end results of his fruits. Look around you, how many call themselves Christians yet obviously ACT against our Lord? Yes we all sin but how many sin and don’t repent??? There are Not 30,000+ truths(or a truth per person) and there was Authority left here in this World for our Lords Children! Our Lord is Not the Lord of Chaos, He is the Lord of Order and Creation! Satan is the Lord of Chaos and look at the Chaos we have wroth!
Note: Learn Church history and learn There were many heresy well before Martin Luther but in the end of each there was and still is Only One Church, Body of Christ in this World, and it is the One Holy and Apostolic Catholic Church
Know this:
Return to God, a Moral people and Christendom! Anything Else if for Not! When you see the reunification of Christians into the One True Faith the Holy and Apostolic Catholic Church the End to the Darkness will be Assured... Until then PRAY for All the Lost Souls!
God Bless
Wow. The rot is deep at that school.
And so what happened to all the church property and investments? What will happen to the Divinity School building itself? Somebody is probably lining their pockets.
There are Not 30,000+ truths(or a truth per person) and there was Authority left here in this World for our Lords Children!
And how many roman catholic denominations are there? Which rite is the correct one?
You might want to check your facts before you post dis-proven information.
Sorry ealgeone, You are blind and deaf, I know many have tried to help you but you still say the same errors. I will continue to Pray for your Soul.
“catholics renounce their worship of Mary”
Catholics do NOT worship Mary but we do honor Our Mother and Ask for Her Intersession. I will Ask her to pray for you too on my next Rosary.
God Bless
Winner!
No no no! Quit “Mary worshipping” and join a church that doesn’t. For example, this pro-abortion lesbian minister’s church does not “Mary worship.” Having a lesbian minister that thinks infanticide is super awesome is so much better than saying a Hail Mary. Do I need a /sarc?
-—When you see the reunification of Christians into the One True Faith the Holy and Apostolic Catholic Church the End to the Darkness will be Assured..-—
Okey dokey...
500 years later, the RC church is still living in denial...
Christ is my cornerstone of my faith...I don’t need a Pope..
Exactly - they destroyed it and now they will divvy up the money.
Thank you.
I was raised in the Episcopal church. I won’t even go near one now.
Popman, Thank you for making my point the lack of humility and the Fact you believe You are the one who can interpret Truth is the exact Error I am pointing out in my post.
There can be Only One Truth. Are you the one with it?(if so who gave you the authority)? Your Neighbor?(if so who gave him the authority?) or was it Left to the One Apostolic Holy Catholic Church which has been here since Our Lord turned over the keys to Peter and the One Holy and Apostolic Catholic Church (2000 years) and will be here even longer.
God Bless, Your Soul too will I keep in my Prays.
Screwtape is displeased.
