Death is a tragedy for mortal man, and yet with faith in eternity and anticipation of the embrace of our heavenly Father, death becomes radiant.
We share today the news of the death of Sister Cecilia, a Carmelite of Santa Fe in Argentina, who suffered from lung cancer. She astonished those who surrounded her in her agony, as her face was transformed by a tender smile as she closed her eyes to this world. As you can see in the photograph, she looks like a lover who has arrived to the encounter she has long been yearning for.
The Carmel of Santa Fe announced the death of Sister Cecilia to their brothers and sisters and friends of the Carmel, with a brief, but profound, note.
Dear brothers, sisters and friends:
Jesus! Just a few lines to let you know that our very dear little sister has softly fallen asleep in the Lord, after an extremely painful illness, which she always endured with joy and surrender to her Divine Spouse. We send you all of our affection, thankful for your support and prayer during this time that is so sorrowful and yet also so marvelous. We believe that she flew directly to heaven, but all the same, we ask that you do not fail to pray for her. From heaven, she will reward you.
A warm embrace from your sisters of Santa Fe

Catholic ping!
Lovely lady but I would have chosen dif words other than:
“she looks like a lover who has arrived to the encounter she has long been yearning for.”
Just sayen and will leave it at that!
"Free at last, free at last, Praise the Lord, I'm Free at last."
Death, where is thy sting?
Beautiful.
As a fully professed nun, especially a Carmelite, she was the mystical bride of Christ.
Actually, from Song of Solomon to Revelation, the Bible uses the analogy that the closest thing in human experience to what we will feel when we meet our Lord face to face is the ecstasy of a newly married couple. Although what we experience then will truly be eternal, not fleeting like human love.
My God! What a beautiful lady and she is rejoicing because she met her Heavenly Father. A lady with a beautiful smile that same smile that will stand in front of Jesus as he welcomes her in. Yes Lung Cancer is ugly to die of but when you believe in the Lord, at the end the cancer will be the of the Earthly past and your future with the Lord will be Eternal Life. Rest in Peace Sister, we shall meet you one day.
What precious pictures. May God bless her for her suffering.
May her good Lord free her from every trace of sin and sorrow, and make her glorious in His Kingdom.
Shine on, Sister! Shine on, shine on!
Tears in my eyes. She departs this world to be with God in His heavenly kingdom. Thank you, dear Sister, for what you have done for my faith this day.
Our life does not end with the death of the body, it begins anew in glorious Heavenly abode.
Oh OK I don’t travel in those religious circles.
Catechism was a task for me.
very touching. May we all in the Invisible Church see this dear woman in Heaven.
A. Our death is not a payment for sin, but a release from sin and entrance into eternal life.
Why on earth is an end stage lung cancer patient doing with a respirator?

My error on second glance looks like she was trached a while back and only has the normal O2 feed.
In here Bishop Barron, who has taken a vow of chastity, talks about erotic passion and how C.S. Lewis in The Great Divorce, demonstrates it. Thought you might be interested. In the Garden of Eden, sex was what it was meant to be. I trust that this is what this little nun is experiencing along with all the other joys of Heaven.
All those washed by the Blood of Christ are the Bride. It matters not their denomination or vows. The same end awaits all those who trust Him for their salvation.
Bless you for posting this wonderful testimony! I have sent it around as email with the link and also posted it to FB.
Thank you for a ray of sunshine in a darkening world.
Now for something incredibly UPLIFTING to counter all the downers assaulting us on a daily basis!
Tie THIS beautiful story in with the announcement by theoretical physicist Michio Kaku that his recent work has convinced him that the universe HAD TO BE CREATED BY GOD and it seems believers need not fear the end that awaits us all.
