And may the Lord free her from every trace of sin and sorrow, and mercifully extend to her His consolation.
15 Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheeps clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. 16 By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17 Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.
21 Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles? 23 Then I will tell them plainly, I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!
IIRC, she lived in a mansion which was just down the street from her husband’s mansion.
That’s a woman?
One morning during a business trip to Santa Ana, Ca. I happened to jog past the TBN grounds. That building is one elaborate edifice. Most of it sits empty for all its being grand looking. Oh well- if people want to voluntarily donate thats their business. I despise my tax dollars being supplemented to PP or helping support welfare for illegals.
Dawg!! You need a road map to navigate a house like that.
You should see the compound at Virginia Beach for the 700 Club. Nothing to sneeze at. It’s armed too.
It would be wonderful if TBN could actually be used for God’s glory.
Well I guess we will have to leave the judgement up to God.
The dude in my mirror has a few flaws that first needs deeper inspections.
TBN was a stop on my way to the Catholic Church. A long stop, and informative. Jan and Paul helped awakene hearts with love for the Lord Jesus Christ. They spoke his Name with love and devotion and with great praise, for whatever Jan’s ridiculous appearance manifested.
My guilt and sin is hidden from the public. Jan’s faults were out in the open and while embarrassing, she was sold out to Jesus, but also and obviously to excess as well.
Excess is easy to see on LIVE TV, and she represented that certainly. I pray that she is healed and balanced, and made ready for the Kingdom.
um probably better if I say nothing
Jack Van Impe has been very critical of efforts by some Christian pastors to reach out to Islam in an attempt to combine the two into something called “Chrislam.” Van Impe pulled his program (”Jack Van Impe Presents”) from TBN a few years back when Paul Crouch refused to air an episode of Van Impe’s program which criticized Robert Schuller and Rick Warren for promoting “Chrislam.”
Yes I know. My good friend who has contacts there showed me around on a visit to Regent. He wanted to show me where they filmed the 700 club but it was closed off for the day.
The Trinity Broadcasting gang used to roll into my friend’s restaurant here in OC. They didn’t exactly look like they were in any danger of going broke. Glitz like an Elvis convention in Vegas.
Hey, TV preachers gotta have a place to lay their heads!
Ah, the 80yo teenager. I used to watch Crouch just for the humor of watching her.
Is that right? I didn’t know that.
I had the feeling Jan was not well at all, maybe a pathology, maybe pills, I have no right to speculate, but her emotional problems worsened, her health was not good and I thought their marriage became strained.
Basically, these were two simple minded people from nowhere, with great challenges to their simple faith, as they too quickly enlarged the charismatic movement and lost their balance.
Her husband once paid a $100k bribe to hush up his driver while claiming he was innocent.
These were carnies of epic proportions, and I mean that in a loving way.
Does anyone have a pic of her without the wigs? I’d love to see that! The funeral directors will have fun styling her hair!
18 What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is proclaimed, and in that I rejoice.
