There's a new sound coming forth from the hills of southern West Virginia. It's a sound many prophets have foretold but haven't heard until now -- and some believe it could spark an end-times awakening...

Good point; those who do not believe the one holy catholic apostolic church was historically visible in every century from the days of the Apostles until now are trapped trying to recreate or reconstruct what they don't believe in every generation. Historically, we can trace such movements.

I agree with you.
**Led by women? That wasn’t a revival, just the start of a new cult.**
You mean that they did things like pray to angels, and to Mary, the mother of the fleshly body of the Son of God?
**Most Pentecostal revivals in the 20th century were the start of a new cult whether they were led by men or women.**
Most?
Care to list a few that you find meet your description of a cult? (You’re the one making the claim)
**Indeed. Pentacostalism is a very bizarre heresy.**
The Pentecostalism that I’m aligned with doesn’t pray to angels or Mary. It also doesn’t alter the phrase ‘Son of God’, into ‘God the Son’, in an effort to define God. According to the scriptures, neither Jesus Christ, nor his apostles ever used the phrase ‘God the Son’.
Changing the words of Jesus Christ and his apostles would certainly qualify as heresy.
Who’s a big enough fool to pray to an angel?
And why in the world would anyone blaspheme God by praying to a human being?

For your interest and insights Pastor Bill
The real revivals in the past produced more change than just the typical speaking and tongues and slain in the Spirit stuff they’ve come to mean today.
They resulted in unbelievers getting saved and as a result society changed very much for the better.
These *revivals* of today are just feel good emotionalism. I have yet to see any real lasting change in the lives of any who have attended them, no matter how many times they’ve been knocked over.
NO, I don’t believe that older people quenched the Holy Spirit and He moved on.
That’s just an excuse because what was happening was shown to be all show and little substance.
lol
There ya go! That's exactly right. That's why I put almost no stock in preachers like the one being being talked about in this thread. If you compare his rantings to the preaching of Billy Sunday, there's no comparison. Even though Sunday's preaching was animated, he spoke the truth of God and people got truly saved.
Exactly.
It’s not the delivery that indicates whether the man is from God or not. It’s the message.
You are very wise metmom. Glad to have made your acquaintance here on FR.
Those are very interesting videos of Sunday. Yes, he was animated, but his message was spot on. Not like that of false preachers we see and hear today.
Thank you.
Is this a new TRUMP thread?
13 Some, however, made fun of them and said, They have had too much wine.
14 Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd:
Fellow Jews and all of you who live in Jerusalem, let me explain this to you; listen carefully to what I say. 15 These people are not drunk, as you suppose. Its only nine in the morning! 16 No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:
17 In the last days, God says,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your young men will see visions,
your old men will dream dreams.
>>They saw tongues like flames of a fire that separated and came to rest on each of them.
>>And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit ...
....for the very first time. Not just for each them personally, but this was the start of the human race being filled with the Holy Spirit. 2000 years later, we still have the Holy Spirit living in us. A revival does not send tongues of flame down because it is already there. All revivals do is prime us to listen to the voice we already hear and ignore. A month later, most are back to their old ways and blaming it on the idea that the Holy Spirit has left them.
