My daughter Kelly has been in the hospital all week fighting a blood infection. She was moved to ICU today and put on a ventilator because of severe pneumonia. She is not doing very well and I would appreciate the prayers of our prayer warriors here on Free Republic.
Lord, hear our prayers.

Kelly Prayer Update:
Today was another mixed bag. Kelly is tolerating the food and her kidney functions are better. The ICU doctor said her liver numbers are down and he sounded kinda grim. But we knew her liver numbers were down before and this was not a real change. Kelly started moving around today which is a sign that her strength is returning. She was awake and communicating with nodding and shaking her head and still has a sense of humor as she was rolling her eyes at some of the things we said.
They tried to wean her off the ventilator today, but she is still really weak and they had to stop when her heart and respiratory rates rose. They did a procedure to reduce the pressure on her lungs caused by the liver problem and they are going to try again tomorrow.
At this point our prayers are that she is able to get off the ventilator. Her lungs are somewhat stiff, but her x-rays have improved. She really wanted to get off the ventilator today and kept shaking her head when they asked her if she wanted to stop the test. Unfortunately she just couldn’t keep it up long enough to have it removed.
She still remains in very critical condition, but I think if we can just get a healing for her lungs that we can turn the corner on this ordeal.

Prayers continue for Kelly to get stronger so she can fight these infections better. I think nutrition is one of the keys, so that’s a plus.
