"The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all" (2 Corinthians 13:14).
Though there is only one God, He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
God is one, but He exists in three distinct Persons. We call this the Trinity, a contraction of "tri-unity," meaning "three in one." The word Trinity doesn't appear in the Bible, but God's existence as three Persons in one God is clear from Scripture.
Old Testament evidence of God's plurality can be found in the very first verse: "In the beginning God . . ." (Gen. 1:1). The Hebrew word used for God is Elohim, which is a plural noun. Isaiah 42:1 speaks of the Messiah: "Behold, My Servant, whom I uphold; My chosen one in whom My soul delights. I have put My Spirit upon Him; He will bring forth justice to the nations." The Messiah says in Isaiah 48:16, "The Lord God has sent Me, and His Spirit."
The New Testament is more explicit about God's triune nature. After Jesus' baptism, the Spirit of God descended upon Him as a dove, and the Father said, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased" (Matt. 3:17). The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are together in the same scene.
Jesus says, "And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth" (John 14:16-17). Paul closes 2 Corinthians by saying, "The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all" (13:14). Peter declares that believers are chosen "according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, by the sanctifying work of the Spirit, that you may obey Jesus Christ" (1 Peter 1:2).
So God is one, but God is three. This is a profound mystery that no human illustration can adequately describe and no scientific explanation can prove. The Trinity is something we have to take on faith, because God has taught it in Scripture.
Suggestions for Prayer
Praise God that He is so far above our finite understanding, yet has chosen to reveal Himself to us.
For Further Study
Read John 14-16.
What does Jesus teach about His relationship with the Father and the Spirit? What do you learn here about the different functions or ministries of each member of the Trinity?
After Pentecost, neither the Jews or anyone was still under the law.
Jesus fulfilled the old law and gave us a new law of love that everyone is under.
Delchiante, I’ve been meaning to send you a reply on FR for some time now. I get so caught up in your posts that I simply forget. Forgive me.
Your posts are very informative and your love for the Lord is clearly evident in all you write. It’s evident, too, that you seek HIS way and not the ways of men/tradition. That you want His truth is plain to see.
I think a lot of people probably do what I do: read your posts, get caught up in trying to understand, and then forget to thank you for the edification. You give a person much to think about!
So thank you, Delchiante.
And your statement that there is much to unlearn is so true. I’ve been led to give up on things that years ago I thought were absolutely the truth simply because things had always been that way.
I would be very grateful, and humbly ask, if you would link me to some information on what you’re posting, if there is such information available on the ‘net ... and hopefully easy for people like me to begin to learn. It would be a true blessing to have more this weekend to unlearn. Right now, I’m headed back to Exodus. ;-)
Your posts mean so much to me and I’m certain they do to others.
Thank you, again, and warmest regards,
SC
Please stop the nonsense.
Acts 5 declares the Holy Spirit is part of the Godhead.
Matthew 28 declares the Holy Spirit part of the Godhead.
Who knew!
So; it’s your church’s contention that the Holy Spirit is NOT GOD?
You just LOVE the OT and it’s laws; don’t you!
I knew that; I’m just pointing out we are all arguing over the number of angels on a pinhead again.
Can be GRIEVED.
Ephesians 4:30
Sounds like a PERSONAL kind of action.
LaLaLa to you too...Man, get a bible, will ya???
The Sabbath ended at 6 pm Saturday evening...About dark...And as luck would have it, Mary M's flashlight wouldn't work...She had bought the cheap batteries and well, we know the story...
So Mary and her crew left the next morning (Sunday) just as dawn was breaking enough for them to see the road...When they got to the tomb the stone was rolled away and the tomb was empty...
It was against all the rules for anyone to do any funeral work on the Sabbath...When the Sabbath was over, it was too dark to get anything done so they waited til morning...
THERE IS NOTHING IN LUKE 24 OR ANY WHERE ELSE THAT CLAIMS OR INDICATES JESUS DID NOT LEAVE THE TOMB ON THE SABBATH...
AND, since we have other scripture that shows the Crucifixion was earlier than you could possibly know, and you have to trash the time frame given of 72 hours, it's clear you and all the rest of the Catholics are chasing a fable...
We have the inspired, preserved word of God and he says you are not telling the truth...
After Gregory changed the calendar, the old Monday was still Monday. The old 7th day was still the 7th day.
Except that the old seventh day ended on our Sunday evening at 6 pm...
And what was the motive for changing it??? By changing it, it was impossible to keep any kind of accurate time since a mechanical or electrical means would be needed to know when one day ended and the next one started...
God had it worked out perfectly...When the sun went down you knew the day was over and the new one started...When the sun came up, you knew you were half way thru the (24 hour) day...
That's ridiculous...Show us some proof...If a Jewish baby was born in the last minute of the day there is no way anyone would say he's a day old...
When you accomplish something it is finished...In the case of a day being accomplished, that's twenty four hours...
were accomplished:
ÏληÌθÏ
pleÌthoÌ
play'-tho, pleh'-o,
A prolonged form of a primary word ÏλεÌÏ pleoÌ (which appears only as an alternate in certain tenses and in the reduplicated form of ÏιÌμÏλημι pimpleÌmi to âfillâ (literally or figuratively [imbue, influence, supply]); specifically to fulfil (time): - accomplish, full (. . . come), furnish.
As in a full day...
Luk 2:21 And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called JESUS, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb.
Eight full days...Not seven days and half a minute...
So either Paul didn't know what he was talking about OR you don't know (or believe) what Paul is talking about...
Well post these crystal clear scriptures and settle it...Or forever be wrong...
Your religion teaches that Jonah wasn't even in a whale...It's a fable...I don't think you are a good one to be askin'...

You’re welcome SC! Appreciate it!
I wish there was a place on the net for this stuff! I don’t know of a place and it is a challenge to talk about things like a calendar on a forum without pictures, diagrams.
Sometimes I think a blackboard in front and some people with computer access and their bibles and concordances is the way this would be tackled :)
It takes back and forth and not lecture style because it is like grade school level ‘learning’ but advanced algebra thinking and I would suspect exposure to just some of it, and people would be able to see the spiritual blessings that I have seen.
Are you more interested in the basic of 1+6+1 Calendar breakdown(Ezekiel 46:1 stuff) or more so one can see 30/60/100 in the Exodus?
Because I could give you the ‘30’ of the 30/60/100 without even touching 1+6+1..
The 60 and the 100 is a little trickier, depending on Bible versions.
But that Parable of the Sower was described as a foundational Parable in Scripture somewhere (forgive me,I think Luke but I may be off on that) and we are blessed to find new or maybe old ways to interpret it.
And 1+6+1 , even though I mention Ezekiel 46:1 a ton, can be found in a way starting at Genesis 1 and Creation- and that took more elementary learning- or unlearning!
And it helped to really study what He created day by day to understand His Calendar..(and I learned what He didn’t do too on certain days- big hint)
I would be blessed to share any of it. Freely given to me, freely given away- for His Glory!
You are correct sir. Arguing over stuff that doesn't matter a hill of beans.
Just out of curiosity though, how many angels ARE there on the head of a pin?
:-)
Not arguing over angels on a pin.
The attack on Jesus dying on the sixth day and rising the first is an orchestrated attack on the orthodox faith, mostly pushed by Hebrew roots false teachers.
It is part of the signs of the end times.
Luke 24:21 spoken on the first day of the week, says “ besides all this, it is now the third day since this happened.”
If Jesus rose on the Sabbath, that would mean he rose on the second day. That violates Luke 9:22.
Wrong, the seventh day ends at sundown on Saturday for Jews, not Sunday.
