Dear Christians, If You Vote For A Godless Man, You Are Asking For Tyranny
The Blaze ^ | 1-19-2016 | Matt Walsh

It's very simple. If a man has no moral center, if he has ambition but no faith, if he does not demonstrate humility or integrity, I will never vote for him for president. I don't care who he is, what he's done, what he says, or what positions he holds. None of that will matter when we are living under his tyranny, and tyranny is sure to follow when you give unspeakable power to a man who believes he is God.

I'll put this another way: if you vote for a man who worships himself over God, you deserve the tyranny that happens next.

You deserve it because you chose it, just as the souls in Hell deserve Hell because they chose it. If you go to the ballot box and say, "I am going to do my part to put this self-absorbed pagan in charge of my nation" you are directly consenting to the inevitable result. You are embracing it. You are literally asking for it.

Dan 4:17: This decision is by the decree of the watchers, And the sentence by the word of the holy ones, In order that the living may know That the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, Gives it to whomever He will, And sets over it the lowest of men.

I will vote for the candidate I regard as most likely to achieve a rebuilding of our nation as to many issues after careul consideration. In the primary, my candidate would have been Scott Walker but now it is Ted Cruz. You choose as you will according to those same standards and I will accept your good faith for our country, defend your right to choose whichever candidate best conforms to that standard in your mind and then God bless you and your candidate whether I vote for that candidate or not.

Scott Walker was also my first choice. I'm going with Trump over Cruz (although Cruz is also somebody I would be comfortable with) is because Trump has more experience as a senior executive, and because Trump seems more of a fighter.

I'm reminded of the story of Lincoln, when told that Grant was a drunkard. He replied "Find out what kind of whiskey he drinks. I want to send a barrel to the rest of my generals". That's my attitude about Trump. He's demonstrated his ability to hold his ground against political correctness.

At this stage, we need a good fighter and negotiator. The two qualities go together: how can you be a convincing negotiator if the other side is not convinced you will walk away from any deal that does not suit you, and that you will impose consequences for trying to screw you?

Granting that we have a major problem at our southern border and, I think, a more serious one developing in ISIS types being recruited to come here and do THEIR thing (kaboom! X Infinity), do you REALLY think the southern border is a worse problem than 60+ million innocent babies slaughtered? I don't and that may be where we part company.

Immigration IS the senior issue facing the US right now, and I will explain why.

If the demographics of the US change much further, then you will NEVER get a conservative elected to national office ever again. The Democrats will control the Presidency, the Senate, and the House. They will be able to achieve a Leftist majority on the Supreme Court. At that point, they will be able to push through their whole agenda.

Abortion is currently being pushed back. There are fewer abortion clinics every year, and fewer doctors willing to do abortions. Fewer hospitals give admitting privileges to abortion doctors. They are increasingly marginalized

If immigration demographics give the Dems a complete majority, that will all change. They WILL declare abortion a human right for all women. All hospitals WILL be required to perform abortions, or lose accreditation. They WILL be required to have abortion doctors on staff. Med schools WILL be required to teach abortion techniques to ALL students.

I’m not so concerned about tyranny under a Trump presidency as I am that he actually will wimp out on those positive things he’s promised to do. I mean, he’s already acknowledged being nice to people based on what he can get from them, as well as turning on a dime from praising someone to the skies to calling them names and smearing them. Despite his valid criticism of career politicians, he’s doing a pretty good imitation of the stereotypical politician who says whatever will get him votes or applause on any given day.

Consequently, I don’t have a lot of confidence that he’ll stay the course on the good stuff once he starts getting pushback and/or he’ll poison the well in terms of getting any necessary cooperation from those he’s trying to work a deal with.

And that’s all aside from his problematic positions on nationalized healthcare and eminent domain.

Sure, I’ll vote for him if he’s the nominee, because the alternative is unthinkable, but I no longer have the confidence in him that I once had.

Not really because the Dems are on their way out.

Not really because the Dems are on their way out.

Really? What is your evidence that the Dem party is shrinking into insignificance?

“I take it you don’t believe in Him. All right.”

You can’t take it however you want.
My relationship with Him is none of your business.

If I support Trump over Cruz, or vice versa it doesn’t make me any less of a Christian because some political zealot says so.

I viewed multiple videos on 3 of the 4 links. I stopped when Pat Condell conflated Europeans of 500 years ago with Muslims today. In Europe's Betrayal of Women he says:
In many ways the Muslim world today is a a similar stage of development as Europe was 500 years ago. Back then women kept themselves covered up for the same reason Muslim women do today. Society was brutal. Legal punishments were sadistic. Beheadings were all the rage and nobody batted an eye. Europeans took that mentality with them to the New World, where they were welcomed at first until the natives quickly realized that these were savage people to whom might was right, who were a threat to anyone weaker or more peaceful and who justified cruelty with superstition. Ring a bell?

Oh come on. Gimme a break.

I don't know if Condell is an atheist or not, but he does have the sound of one, judging from the few videos I watched. Perhaps that's why he may want to conflate Christianity with Mohammandanism - I don't know for sure. He and other atheists make many truthful and salient statements promoting conservatism and against Mohammendanism, for example, which I welcome, but it's not because atheists have any moral or philosophical foundation for such views or because those views are actually consistent with, rooted in or justified by their espoused atheism.

Cordially,

Oh he is. And I expect him to slap at Christianity. That’s just part of the package.

But with all of them, I know that they dont really see Christianity as anywhere near the “problem” for themselves as Islam is. That is why 99% of their videos focus on radical Islam, with rare mentions of Christianity.

Trump hasn't been part of the eGOP "scene" in DC and those that have spent their entire lives climbing the social ladder in the eGOP are scared they won't retain their positions if Trump wins. Period. THAT is why they oppose Trump.

Mea Culpa, I hate eating crow but I assumed that from Blaze he was mormon. His argument I do not agree with. Come to grips with this, we do not live in a Christian nation. I contribute mostly to Cruz but I don’t think he will carry the nomination. Would I rather have a secular president who favors Christians or a anti- Christian who would persecute the church like klinton? Rhetorical question but I hope you understand my point. This election is about the survival of a free country not a resurrected Christian nation in my view.

That is all I was asking. I want people to address issues on the merits and not on what religion a pundit or candidate may adhere to. I despise Romney as much as I can despise any man but it is on the merits not because of his Mormonism. I find many Mormon beliefs quite strange but I have known and admired every Mormon I have ever met. Most are diligent, upstanding moral folks who would make good neighbors and friends. Romney is a lifelong pro-abort (like his daddy and mommy) who profited from disposing of the broken bodies of abortion victims. I think of him as little better if at all than those wonderful folks who were tried at Nuremberg. He is also a gun grabber, a serial liar, a "gay""marriage" enabler, none of which are consistent with Mormonism. Just as my Catholic Church should be ashamed of not excommunicating Ted Kennedy, Nancy Pelosi, John Kerry, Rosa DeLauro and so many of their pro-abort ilk, likewise the Mormons should be ashamed of not excommunicating Mitt Romney. Glenn Beck is not Romney. Not perfect but not Romney.

Like you, I prefer Cruz but would, in the finals, prefer a secular candidate who favors Christians (and other folks of sincere faith) over whatever heathen is nominated by the Demonrats? You bet.

AND you are right that this election is about the survival of our free country (badly damaged but almost vaguely still salvageable for freedom) and not a "resurrected Christian nation" in my view as well.

I also do not believe that we were never a specifically Christian nation although I regard myself as a Christian, but that, without regard to denomination, we were always in the early days a God-fearing nation in which citizens were free not to believe.

Many Founding Fathers were Deists. Some may have been agnostic. None of the Founders were Jews to the best of my knowledge but no less than George Washington, as President, wrote to a Jewish congregation in either Rhode Island or South Carolina to assure the members that they too were fully citizens of this nation and that their worship of the one true God was welcome here. I don't have the exact quote but that is the gist.

Does your screen name intentionally relate to Irish history? I have often wondered.

May God bless you and yours!
