Not a Catholic problem but a cultural one. There are many Catholics that are “unchurched” since the q950s, one of the reasons many are duped into joining evangelical sects with their slick talk and bibliolatry.

You really don't know do you! Jesus said to take the Passover in remembrance of Him as the Passover lamb ... ever heard the phrase 'lamb slain from the foundation of the world'? Guess Who that IS. And you can know for sure that Jesus is placing Himself in the role because of what He tells His disciples as He passes the last cup in the Passover celebration to them.

Ignorance is the only defense catholiciism offers the folks who refuse to see the Truth that the Word of God declares. Pleading ignorance before the Great White Throne will not be an acceptable excuse, especially given all the agape they've been offered only to spit upon it and call the offerers 'prots'.

So you, as a catholic, reject the Teaching of Jesus, found in the verses which follow verse 53, which followed the walking away of those who were such literalists that they took the catholic explanation and saw cannibalism. Choosing to be ignorant when the teaching of Jesus gives clear understanding is not a pretty picture of your religion of catholiciism.

NEVER...we lament the FACT that they once had and accepted the truth and now, because of being led astray, they deny it....very sad.

ALWAYS...we Prots rejoice in the FACT that they once had accepted the voluminous amounts of Roman teachings and now, because of being led by the Spirit, they deny them and see the purity of the Bible, which Rome assembled BEFORE it went so far off the tracks.
