Paul - 1 Corinthians 11:27-29 King James Version (KJV)

27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.

28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.

29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.

That pesky Paul.

Catholicism teaches its adherents to skip the worthily/unworthily part and just go ahead and do the damnable cannibalism thing, believing they eat the body, blood, soul and DIVINITY in the catholic wafer. One of satan’s biggest tricks is the blindness catholiciism promotes regarding the symbology of the Passover, the Passover Lamb, and the celebration of Salvation by the Lamb Slain form the foundation of the world. And it could be so easily swept away if only a catholic would read Jesus’s own explanation of John 6:53 in the verses that follow!

Yes; folks; can't you discern that this IS the Lord's body?

Do you see any hanging chads?

That pesky Paul.

The disciples did indeed discern the Lord's Body as he was standing there with them.

He gave them the cup and the bread and they did eat and drink of it.

And followed His command and did it in remembrance of Him.

The same as millions of Christians do to this day.

Do you suppose He tore that bread from His own Body and therefore his followers ate literally His Flesh and drank His Blood?

Transubstantiation was made up centuries later, around 1551.

Jesus called the cup the 'fruit of the vine' so it is clear actual eating the literal body and drinking the literal blood of Jesus was not what He meant.

Do you believe the following from Church Fathers? I do not:

When the priest pronounces the tremendous works of Consecration, he reaches up into heavens, brings Christ down from His throne, and places Him upon our altar to be offered up again as the victim for the sins of man.
"It is a power greater than that of monarchs and emperors: it is greater than that of saints and angels, greater than that of Seraphim and Cherubim. Indeed it is greater even than the power of the Virgin Mary. For, while the Blessed Virgin was the human agency by which Christ became incarnate a single time, the priest brings Christ down from heaven, and renders Him present on our altar as the eternal Victim for the sins of man - not once but a thousand times! The priest speaks and lo! Christ the Eternal and Omnipotent God, bows His head in humble obedience to the priest's command.

...No wonder that the name which spiritual writers are especially found of applying to the priest is that of 'alter Christus.' For the priest is and should be another Christ" (Faith of Millions, John O'Brien, Ph.D., LL.D., 268-269, "nihil obstat" by Rev. T. E. Dillon-Censor Librorum and "imprimatur" by John Francis Noll, D.D. -Bishop of Fort Wayne).
