How do you square your Christian faith with hatred of Muslims? (VANITY)

As one looks at the articles and comments found on Free Republic, you can see the complete and utter loathing, disgust, and outright hatred towards Muslims. It is viewed as a justified hatred, built on the actions Muslims have taken for decades against Americans and others. Notable attacks include the Beirut bombing of the Marine barracks, Beslan in Russia, the recent San Bernadino attack, and of course 9/11.
However, I was challenged by a few friends recently as to how a professing Christian can have a deep-seated hatred for Muslims. They reminded me of Jesus' command to love one another. They pointed out that He wasn't just talking about Christians loving other Christians (which can be difficult sometimes), but about Christians loving people in their communities...even those one may count as an enemy.
It's been pointed out to me that Christ's death on the cross wasn't just for me...it was also for the Muslim. He wants them to come to know Him as their Savior just as much as He wants us...or me...to. The problem they see is that someone won't want to come to know Christ if those who say they're His followers are in your face telling you that they hate you.
When I point out to them about the danger that Muslims have time and time again posed to society, they argue that Jesus didn't care if they were dangerous- He wanted His followers to love them, And, if that love had an element of risk associated with it, His followers were to love them anyway. A reminder of what that looks like can be seen in the story of the Christian men who ended up martyred by the Auca tribe in South America.
In any case, what they said is making me think. I want to know how one can reconcile a hatred for Muslims with Jesus' command to love people. It does seem that you can't do one and do the other as well. Yes...I am aware I may very well be opening up a huge can of worms, but this has been bugging me and I wanted to discuss it with my fellow FReepers.

I don’t hate muslims any more than I hate gays. I love them for being lost sheep.
I will not submit to the death cult that is defined by sharia law. That is anti Christian and anti every other religion.
People who want to kill me will meet righteous self defense. Tell your friends tha plenty of God fearing Jews died in the camps because they loved their enemy and did nothing to defend themdelved

My love for them ends where they openly threaten to kill me. I do not know who is who in that respect.
I would witness to a Muslim, sure, but not as a fool who foolishly thinks singing kumbayuh with them and ignoring their evil religion

I pray that God eradicates Islam, preferably by converting them to Christianity.
(Personally, I think it would be funnier if they were converted to Judaism.)

Did Jesus command us to love those that are killing us, our families and our children so they can please Allah? Just asking.

I remember
our Heavenly Father telling us HOW to handle other religions,
how to show the proper reaction to their false gods.
Read how"Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he is a god;
either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey,
or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked"
Also:
Bring out thy son, that he may die:because he hath cast down the altar of Baal, and because he hath cut down the grove that was by it.
And Joash said unto all that stood against him,Will ye plead for Baal? he that will plead for him,let him be put to death whilst it is yet morning:
if he be a god,let him plead for himself, because one hath cast down his altar.
Therefore on that day he called him Jerubbaal, saying,Let Baal plead against him, because he hath thrown down his altar. "
Here's a great example of responding to those followers of FALSE gods.
Jerubbaal and Joash of
Judges 6 and
Judges 7 are well worth your time.
Muslims are well know for lying about their faith. MUSLIMS are allowed to LIE and deceive NON MUSLIMS, if it benefits or protects ISLAM. Qur'an (16:106) - Establishes that there are circumstances that can "compel" a Muslim to tell a lie.
Qur'an (3:28) - This verse tells Muslims not to take those outside the faith as friends, unless it is to "guard themselves."
Qur'an (9:3) - "...Allah and His Messenger are free from liability to the idolaters..." The dissolution of oaths with the pagans who remained at Mecca following its capture. They did nothing wrong, but were evicted anyway.
Qur'an (40:28) - A man is introduced as a believer, but one who must "hide his faith" among those who are not believers.
Qur'an (2:225) - "Allah will not call you to account for thoughtlessness in your oaths, but for the intention in your hearts"
Qur'an (66:2) - "Allah has already ordained for you, (O men), the dissolution of your oaths"
Qur'an (3:54) - "And they (the disbelievers) schemed, and Allah schemed (against them): and Allah is the best of schemers." The Arabic word used here for scheme (or plot) is makara, which literally means deceit. If Allah is deceitful toward unbelievers, then there is little basis for denying that Muslims are allowed to do the same. (See also 8:30 and 10:21)
Taken collectively these verses are interpreted to mean that there are circumstances when a Muslim may be "compelled" to deceive others for a greater purpose.
For a better understanding of the issue, read

You don’t have to just kneel down and die anytime someone wants to come up and hack off your head. That’s retarded. That’s not Christian.

Jesus loves Muslims. He loves them enough to die for them as He did for all sinners...including me. Therefore, I do not hate them. However, Romans 13:4 says the government bears the sword to punish the evil doer. And I support that.
As far as your observation of Christians here: well...you're not the first to notice the disconnect between those who claim the name of Christ and their following of His Word. In that respect, they have a lot in common with the so called moderate Mislim. They identify to a religion that they do not follow into inconvenience. They do not pray for their president (that he would be saved) and would rejoice over his fall (something King David refuses to do and instructed against)..

Hatred for Muslims CANNOT be reconciled with Christianity.
Loathing for Islam, which is organized demonic possession, and realistic fear of Muslims, are perfectly consistent with Christianity.
Hatred for Muslims would be marked by the positive desire that Muslims be damned. This is sinful. Muslims should be excluded from the United States as a matter of self-preservation. Muslims who pose an immediate threat to life or limb should, like anyone else, be neutralized, which may necessitate killing them.

I don’t hate them.
I just want a bright line separating their subtypes between “freedom of religion” and “enemies foreign and domestic”. Finding that line is not going well.
Yes, I share your concern. I’m seeing too much wanton abandonment of core principles in this matter.
