In addition to direct federal grants to help refugees, government at various levels provide subsidized housing, healthcare, food stamps, other cash assistance, and free education. There is also a cost to the criminal justice system of taking care of the criminals among them.
Itâs the Catholic role, in collaboration with the federal government, in bringing refugees to the U.S. that caused Corcoran to leave the church. She told Accuracy in Media, âIn 2002, having been raised in a protestant faith, I became a Catholic. For a few years I loved being a Catholic. All of that changed beginning in 2007 when I learned that another church group began resettling mostly Muslim refugees to my rural county in Western Maryland. I learned that the church group was largely funded and directed by the U.S. State Department to place the refugees in our county with no local input.â
Mahony is described by the Los Angeles Times as âa nationally influential figure who heads the nationâs largest Roman Catholic archdiocese with 4.3 million members.â In other words, he is not a fringe player. Indeed, he is typical of Catholic Church leaders.
Why do Catholic officials want to encourage illegal immigration? The answer is quite simple. Most of the illegal aliens are Catholics. Plus, the church makes lots of government money by hosting and serving the immigrants.

The following statement is NOT true.
It was true enough when the article was first written, five years or so ago.
What --- other than Mahoney no longer being in charge of the Diocese of Los Angeles --- has changed?
Anything? Does anyone have an accurate answer?
Here, let me help. Try the following links;
Yet, from http://www.fisheaters.com/forums/index.php?topic=3458754.0 is a copy of an LA Times article (that has gone 404 at latimes.com) entitled
A portion from that 'fisheaters' copy; ... ... ...
Rather than recede from the spotlight, however, Mahony has become more prominent. The March papal conclave made him an important figure in a major international story, a position he touted with frequent posts on Twitter and his personal blog. Since his return from Rome, he has advocated immigration reform, his signature issue, and embarked upon what some in the church are calling a "rehabilitation tour" to tell his side of the abuse story to fellow priests. The speeches have played to mixed reviews, with some clerics saying he has a right to defend his record and others all but rolling their eyes.Under canon law, Gomez had no authority to punish Mahony - only the pope can sanction a cardinal - but he does control administrative assignments in his archdiocese, including the confirmation schedule, and his letter signaled a desire to use that power to limit Mahony's visibility.
"What he said [in the letter] was, 'I'm no longer going to let him act publicly on behalf of me,'" said Nicholas P. Cafardi, a canon law specialist at Duquesne University. In light of the confirmations, he said, "You can certainly deduce that [Gomez] has changed his mind."
Gomez declined to comment. A spokeswoman said it was Mahony who had canceled his confirmation schedule in January and Mahony who opted to resume it. The cardinal declined to respond to questions posed through the spokeswoman.
Approached by a reporter after the Wilmington service, Mahony indicated that he was unaware the church had ever said he would stop doing confirmations.
"That's news to me.... I've been doing them every week and I'm going to be doing them every week," he said, adding, "So go home."
And there is Cardinal Mahoney's blog where he calls himself;
Face it.
RCC policies in regards to all but entirely unbridled immigration into the USA (and nations of Western Europe too, it appears) haven't changed at highest levels of RC church administration, save to perhaps become yet more outspoken in favor of open borders/social justice mix n' match, which policies wealthier, more prosperous nations -- according to the Vatican, and on down throughout the ranks with only a scarce few dissenters from within RC priesthood/hierarchy, must allow themselves to be subjected to.
Universal sufferage/citizenship for all the poor and downtrodden, to trod most anywhere they please throughout the Western world is what is being supported by the liberal lefties, and fellow travelers within the RCC.
So just what is inaccurate? Mahoney is no longer the Archbishop of Los Angeles. Boy howdy, how devastating that error is. Why, it's enough to make grown men & women stick their fingers in their ears and say ---lalalaLALAHLAHLALAHH! I can't hear you!---
Which of course is enough to invalidate all the rest of the information touched upon in this thread. Ri-iight?
By Jimminy, lets' throw it all out then. Too old. Like dead fish and house guests; after more than three days, you want 'em out of the house.
Catholics suffered discrimination in the colonies just as they do now worldwide.
Catholics made Christians suffer much worse under their "discrimination," like as Islam does now.
Canons of the Ecumenical Fourth Lateran Council (canon 3), 1215:
Secular authorities, whatever office they may hold, shall be admonished and induced and if necessary compelled by ecclesiastical censure, that as they wish to be esteemed and numbered among the faithful, so for the defense of the faith they ought publicly to take an oath that they will strive in good faith and to the best of their ability to exterminate in the territories subject to their jurisdiction all heretics pointed out by the Church; so that whenever anyone shall have assumed authority, whether spiritual or temporal, let him be bound to confirm this decree by oath.
But if a temporal ruler, after having been requested and admonished by the Church, should neglect to cleanse his territory of this heretical foulness, let him be excommunicated by the metropolitan and the other bishops of the province. If he refuses to make satisfaction within a year, let the matter be made known to the supreme pontiff, that he may declare the rulerâs vassals absolved from their allegiance and may offer the territory to be ruled lay Catholics, who on the extermination of the heretics may possess it without hindrance and preserve it in the purity of faith; the right, however, of the chief ruler is to be respected as long as he offers no obstacle in this matter and permits freedom of action.
The same law is to be observed in regard to those who have no chief rulers (that is, are independent). Catholics who have girded themselves with the cross for the extermination of the heretics, shall enjoy the indulgences and privileges granted to those who go in defense of the Holy Land. Does us all a favor, sister, and do not make threads be about individual persons here.
That is a form of making it personal rather than discussion of issues, in ways quite possible unwelcome to the recipient.
This is not the forum for it, although when or if you may catch 'em out in the more open and general forum (as compared to the "religion" forum of FR) then go for it?
A note of caution is called for though, take it from an actual and true blue fisherman ---if they don't break the line, or spit the trolling jig right back at ya', you may need to get a bigger boat.
Imagine placement of the 'ol Alex Murphy spewing gif

Yes they are. I wonder what other “services” they help people with. I equate this with counties that have prisons. They get money for each prisoner. hence many who are innocent are sent there because of an agreement with court appointed useless lawyers and prosecuting attorneys. Especially in cases where those charged with a crime are below average intelligence.
Ditto that.
Same here, and contribute to wounded warrior projects as well. No $$ to leftist frauds in clericals who are effectively contributing to the destruction of our nation's moral foundations.
“Her faith was not strong.”
Agreed. She wanted a religion that agreed with her political views.
“If you donât like it you have two choices: shut up and accept it or leave the church.”
That comment shows a serious ignorance about how the Church actually works.
IMPOSSIBLE SITUATION
U.S.A. needs to abolish the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965 and return to the National Origins Formula which restricted immigration on the basis of existing proportions of the U.S. population.
63% of Catholic charities funding is govet funding.
