BRINGING EX-CATHOLICS BACK TO THE CATHOLIC CHURCH A PERSONAL STORY
CATHOLIC CLASSICS UNLIMITED BRINGING EX-CATHOLICS BACK TO THE CATHOLIC CHURCH ^

Posted on 10/20/2015 12:34:51 AM PDT by OrthodoxIndianCatholic

Introduction :

It is my objective and endeavour to bring Ex-Catholics back to the Catholic Church in 2015 as well as in 2016. I intend to achieve this through "Catholic Classics".

What I mean is this -- I want Catholics who have left the Catholic Church to read awesome and amazing "Catholic Books" posted on my Catholic Blog.

Many Catholics in India specially in "Metro Cities" have left the Catholic Church and have joined "Non - Denominational Churches".

Most of them are unaware of "Catholic Classics" which encompass and explain the beautiful Catholic Faith.

In Cities like Mumbai in Maharashtra, Panjim and Margao in Goa, Bangalore in Karnataka, and Chennai in Tamil Nadu Catholics have left the Church for a variety of reasons; mostly for monetary reasons but some have also left because of animosity with Priests, or Nuns, or Bishops.

Let me tell you my personal story with regard to "Catholic Classics" and how they changed my life forever.

In Mid- 2012, 3 years back, I was quite angry with Catholic Priests because of negative experiences I had with them while growing up in Mumbai.

In the latter half of 2012, while surfing the "Net" for Catholic Websites I came across a beautiful, outstanding, and extra-ordinary Catholic Website called "E-Catholic 2000"-- "Catholics for the Third Millenium".

Once, I entered this amazing website I happened to stumble across four Catholic Classics--

1) Calvary and the Mass.

2) True Devotion to Mary.

3) Secret of the Rosary.

4) Secret of Mary.

After reading these 4 Catholic Classics over a number of months - I lost all animosity I may have had against Catholic Priests in Mumbai or anywhere else.

I promise you that when you read these 4 books, you will be changed forever and will fall in love with the Catholic - Christian Faith instantly as I did.

These are 4 Books, that positively changes lives and souls.

Read them and you will never be sorry that you visited my "Catholic Blog" accidentally or purposely.

These "Catholic Classics" proudly promote Jesus Christ as the "Centre of our Faith".

The Catholic Church is more than 2000 years old. Let us never forget that.

These Catholic Classics present to us the vibrant Catholic Faith as it has been through the centuries.

Conclusion :

No one will ever regret reading "Catholic Books" @ my blog. These Catholic Books help to build one up in the faith and help to strengthen one about the truths of the Catholic Faith.

I strongly recommend 4 Catholic Classics to Catholics who have left the Church and who might visit my Catholic Blog in the future.

1) Calvary and the Mass

2) True Devotion to Mary

3) Secret of the Rosary

4) Secret of Mary

Happy and Holy Reading.

Did you read the article? Did you miss this statement?: These “Catholic Classics” proudly promote Jesus Christ as the “Centre of our Faith”.

You apparently did not read the books listed in the article. Otherwise if you would have taken the time to read, "True Devotion to Mary" you would find that these "Catholic Classics" promote Mary. Please consider the brief following statement:

Not only is this mostly untrue (Where was Joseph in the nourishing and support of Christ?), but it is against scripture (Christ laid down His life for us-Mary did not sacrifice Him for us).

One only hopes that this kind poster will reexamine his beliefs in the context of actual scripture and not on the word of man.

“Did Paul ever, ever include Mary in His letters to the various churches?????”

NO. Which is why they hang out in the Gospels, spoken primarily to Jews and not post-Resurrection believers. Paul wrote a disproportionate number of NT letters but he upsets so many peoples’ apple carts they pretend he’s a minor character.

“I’ll take Jesus over Paul!” Problem is Jesus IS giving updates for Christians through Paul.

Edition and publisher of the first Bible translated into English. We’re talking both OT and NT.

Funny how they skip over the Jews when claiming themselves as the source of Scripture.

Catholics don’t worship Mary. We ask her to pray for us.

How? Since she's in Heaven, how do you get her attention? Send up flares? Smoke? How?

Did you ever ask your own mother to pray for you?

ABSOLUTELY -- WHEN SHE WAS ALIVE and I could ask her face to face, write her a letter, talk to her on the phone.... I surely did. But now? She's in Heaven, worshipping God... just like Mary is doing. And, JUST LIKE MARY, she's NOT omniscient.... she can't hear prayer. And neither can Mary. And really, why pray to Mary, when you have access to God through his only begotten Son Jesus? Why go through an intermediary when you can reach God Almighty Himself?

Remember 1 Timothy 2:5? Let me refresh all of our memories:

" For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,"

Which tells it all -- ONLY Christ intercedes for us. Not Mary, nor any other saint. Only Christ.

So why pray to someone who can't hear you and pray to the one true living God who CAN hear you?

10. (4) God chose her to be the treasurer, the administrator and the dispenser of all his graces, so that all his graces and gifts pass through her hands. Such is the power that she has received from him that, according to St Bernardine, she gives the graces of the eternal Father, the virtues of Jesus Christ, and the gifts of the Holy Spirit to whom she wills, as and when she wills, and as much as she wills.

This blasphemous mess is from The Secret of Mary

Reader of this thread, the Bible is clear.

You do not need Mary's ok for your salvation. This is a lie straight out of the Pit.

Mary does not dispense any spiritual gift to you.....the Holy Spirit does.

If you believe in Jesus as your Savior you will be saved as John records in John 3:16.

I encourage you to read the Book of John in the Bible if you want o understand who Christ is and how He, and He alone, offers you eternal life.

“Catholics don’t worship Mary. We ask her to pray for us.

Jesus could have jumped off that cross at an time .
Why did he let the Roman soldier nail him on that cross ?

You, sir, have a remarkable way of saying the obvious in a way that is so clear and so direct that the implications and conclusions cannot be disputed.

Thank you.

I concur, Daniel’s posts are always very helpful. He must have put a lot of work into post 50.

You said,
We shall see about that.

I already KNOW about that. I don't have to WAIT to SEE.

But I admit: A lot of people WILL SEE about that - and THEY will be shocked ("shocked", I say!) to SEE the TRUTH of what a BUNCH of people have been trying to TELL them all this time.

("Shocked", I say!)

>>I’ve noticed that, Catholic church services, if the Bible is referenced it is always the gospels, can’t say as I’ve ever heard Paul’s epistles featured. With zero being said about Mary in them, now we know why.

You said,
You sadly don’t know that the Church that brought you the Bible and even the FIRST English translation...

I've read this over and over again from posters on these threads.

I've come to the conclusion that this "Church" you talk about must have "brought" us their VERY LAST COPY - because it's evident that they don't have one of THEIR OWN to READ anymore... and, you're right: That IS sad.

So, every time I read this claim, that's what comes to mind.

“You apparently did not read the books listed in the article.”

I read at three of the four - including the one you mentioned in 1995. I read the Fulton Sheen book (Calvary and the Mass) between 2001 and 2009. The copy I had was a rare edition with dozens of black and white photographs of the Mass. I found it especially interested because I attend the Latin Mass so it seemed particularly appropriate.

In other words, as usual, you were wrong.

“Not only is this mostly untrue (Where was Joseph in the nourishing and support of Christ?),”

Straining at gnats again are you? Let’s look at the passage:

“It is she who has suckled Him,...”

Are you suggesting St. Joseph did that? Only Mary did that.

“nourished Him,”

Who normally feeds a child - the mother or the father? Especially when the father is working as a carpenter all day?

“supported Him,”

Does it say St. Joseph DIDN’T support Him? No. Tempest. Teapot.

“...brought Him up,”

Does it say St. Joseph DIDN’T bring Him up? No. Tempest. Teapot.

“and then sacrificed Him for us.”

Mary was there. St. Joseph was apparently already dead. Also, Luke 2:35 only applies to her not St. Joseph.

“but it is against scripture (Christ laid down His life for us-Mary did not sacrifice Him for us).”

She did in that she willingly gave Him up for the will of God. It pays to actually read the books rather than just blindly attack them. I’ve read them all. Have you?

“If some one wants to learn more about Jesus, the BEST place for them to read is the Bible.”

MORE about Jesus? I would think that the Bible would be one of a couple of starting points for someone learning about Jesus for the first time - and you would never stop with those sources in your life time. If someone wanted MORE, he might read this: http://www.amazon.com/Mystery-Jesus-Christ-Theology-Textbooks/dp/1851821279

Did Paul ever, ever include Mary in His letters to the various churches?????

Nor did the Holy Spirit ever mention Mary after Acts 1 (not in Rv. 12 either), but neither did he teach ensured perpetual magisterial infallibility; praying to created beings in Heaven; the priesthood ; Cath Mariolatry ; clerical celibacy; purgatory ; hindering personal Bible reading; a separate class of believers called “saints, a hierarchical order of priests, bishops, Cardinals, etc., with ostentatious religious dress and titles; teaching that the deity Muslims worship (not as unknown) is the same as theirs;

But autocratic entities who presume Divine attributes define reality according to what they say it is. Something about the only Divine evidence to us of what was primitive what the Church says at this hour
