CATHOLIC CLASSICS UNLIMITED BRINGING EX-CATHOLICS BACK TO THE CATHOLIC CHURCH ^

Introduction :

It is my objective and endeavour to bring Ex-Catholics back to the Catholic Church in 2015 as well as in 2016. I intend to achieve this through "Catholic Classics".

What I mean is this -- I want Catholics who have left the Catholic Church to read awesome and amazing "Catholic Books" posted on my Catholic Blog.

Many Catholics in India specially in "Metro Cities" have left the Catholic Church and have joined "Non - Denominational Churches".

Most of them are unaware of "Catholic Classics" which encompass and explain the beautiful Catholic Faith.

In Cities like Mumbai in Maharashtra, Panjim and Margao in Goa, Bangalore in Karnataka, and Chennai in Tamil Nadu Catholics have left the Church for a variety of reasons; mostly for monetary reasons but some have also left because of animosity with Priests, or Nuns, or Bishops.

Let me tell you my personal story with regard to "Catholic Classics" and how they changed my life forever.

In Mid- 2012, 3 years back, I was quite angry with Catholic Priests because of negative experiences I had with them while growing up in Mumbai.

In the latter half of 2012, while surfing the "Net" for Catholic Websites I came across a beautiful, outstanding, and extra-ordinary Catholic Website called "E-Catholic 2000"-- "Catholics for the Third Millenium".

Once, I entered this amazing website I happened to stumble across four Catholic Classics--

1) Calvary and the Mass.

2) True Devotion to Mary.

3) Secret of the Rosary.

4) Secret of Mary.

After reading these 4 Catholic Classics over a number of months - I lost all animosity I may have had against Catholic Priests in Mumbai or anywhere else.

I promise you that when you read these 4 books, you will be changed forever and will fall in love with the Catholic - Christian Faith instantly as I did.

These are 4 Books, that positively changes lives and souls.

Read them and you will never be sorry that you visited my "Catholic Blog" accidentally or purposely.

These "Catholic Classics" proudly promote Jesus Christ as the "Centre of our Faith".

The Catholic Church is more than 2000 years old. Let us never forget that.

These Catholic Classics present to us the vibrant Catholic Faith as it has been through the centuries.

Conclusion :

No one will ever regret reading "Catholic Books" @ my blog. These Catholic Books help to build one up in the faith and help to strengthen one about the truths of the Catholic Faith.

Here are the facts:

1) You apparently wanted to make hay out of the fact that there is a “NEW” (1997) edition of the CCC - and did so while posting verses from the “NEW” International Version of the Bible and you apparently didn’t see the obvious problem with that.

2) You apparently didn’t know that there are no major differences in the text between 1st and 2nd editions of the CCC. All textual edits boil down to a handful of pages and didn’t change a single doctrine in the least.

3) You apparently were completely unaware that the 2nd edition was published with a huge series of citation indices and a glossary and that those pages accounted for just about every single page of added text to the CCC as a whole. The textual edits to the main text were so minor that none of them singly or even in aggregate added any pages to the text except perhaps - and I really mean PERHAPS - lengthening the CCC by one or two pages overall.

So, you were wrong, on everything. Those are the facts.

I’ve yet to meet any Catholic who is. Remember, public revelation ended with St. John’s death: CCC 66.

Yes - if you interpret the statement incorrectly as you do so many things. If you interpret it correctly, then no. Which will you choose? The safe bet is that you will choose to interpret it incorrectly.

Since it is guaranteed that someone will look hypocritical when he attacks Catholics for having a NEW edition of the catechism while posting verses from a NEW edition of the Bible, I think simply reposting those statements is more effective. If you’re buried, your own words dug the hole.

Did you know that many Catholic believe in the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus, but have no faith in the creation nor most of the Old Testament stories.

David, "a man after God's own heart" (Acts 13:22),was a wretched sinner. Job was a devout and Godly man, but God allowed Satan to bring Job to sit in front of abusive friends, covered with sack cloth, and ashes.

Shadrach, Meshack, and Abednigo danced in a fire and Abraham almost killed his son. Such are just fairy tales, but to so many Roman Catholics, they would rather believe myths of apparitions and alleged miracles. They pray to some goddess, and bow down to plastic idols.

But, it is almost Christmas, so Santa will take another sleigh ride, and hopefully, there are still plenty of fireplaces for him to drop into! Of course, many will go to church to partake of bread and wine, and think their salvation if found within!

Here’s why: 1) when I asked the question the first time in post 76 you avoided it completely, 2) you apparently have no understanding of the books.

But it’s still free will, our God doesn’t want robots. The Holy Spirit gives direction, but you must choose to follow that direction.

No one said that if you slip up you are axed! We all sin even in the faith, but we continue in the faith and belief and thus we are forgiven as far as the east is from the west.

The word can’t continue in salvation.

The soil is the person.

Did Thomas lose his salvation?

What was Jesus reaction to both Peter and Thomas? Peter for denying Him and Thomas for doubting Him?

It’s not up to us to *keep* our salvation.

Read Galatians 3.

We are not saved by faith and kept by works. And the idea of giving up salvation is not found in Scripture.

So what do you do with all God’s promises about Him keeping us to the end and being sealed with the Holy Spirit until the day of redemption?

Ignore them?
