Do you need man to tell you what is already in the Bible? I know a Pastor who has bought these books to hand out. He’s more focused on this book than on the Bible now. I ignore him now.
Cahn may not be selling survival stuff but he is selling that book which in turn causes survival stuff to be sold. He’s been on the NYT bestseller list for how long?! He’s getting filthy rich off of scaring people this September.

Your walk with God is personal. God knows you. He will take care of you.
You do not know Cahn’s relationship with his god. So why listen to him? Things that apply to him do not apply to you.
When you read the book, was there ever a time that something just didn’t sit right? That something does not line up with God’s Word? This happened to me and that’s why I started researching.
Consider Obama. He’ll say things that sound like the truth but when you research, you find out that he has changed historical facts or twisted things. Same applies here.
Anyway, if you choose to defend Cahn, that’s fine.
I find it interesting that you insist on verifying everything Cahn says, but get this fundamental fact about Scripture wrong and then run with it.
You have not provided one solid example of something that you claim is wrong about him.

If you have something against him, the have the guts and integrity to be specific and state what it is.
