Uhhhh, can you translate this into English? I thought in the Catholic Church a priest can absolve ANY sin.

I’ll confess my transgressions to God and seek forgiveness from Him, not Man

And again we see the utter reliance upon catholic Mary in this statement. No mention of the True Savior whose name is above all names and the only one who can forgive ALL sin.

I would rather go to Christ for confession and absolution. He is the only One that can absolve.

Any step toward reunification with SSPX and, by implication, with the Eastern Orthodox is good. Alleluia, praise be to God.
Observe the Protestants getting angry. We must be doing something right.

Can't Rome get ANYTHING right?
This is only 11 months and 12 days!

Should have had made this a Catholic caucus thread.

Just to be sure.....prior to this announcement a woman who'd had an abortion could not be forgiven by a priest??
In the catholic mindset how did she obtain forgiveness.....if she could?

I’m finding numerous articles that are saying roman catholic priests are already forgiving this sin. How is this different?

I’ll ask again....what did roman catholic women do who’d had an abortion and sought forgiveness prior to this if the priest couldn’t “forgive” their sin?
To: NYer
Interesting — had missed this until now (not that I sit on the edge of my chair waiting for the pope to say one thing or another about SSPX). God might view them as having had faculty all along. I’m skeptical the pope can turn things on and off like that.
