Under heavy public pressure, a Swiss Catholic bishop has issued a public apology for a statement in which he referred to homosexual activity as an abomination and cited Old Testament passages saying that offenders should be put to death.
Bishop Vitus Huonder of Chur sent a 3-page letter to clerics in which he said it had been a “mistake” to make his comments—which he had delivered at a forum in Germany—“on a theological and academic level.” He said that he should have shown a draft of his talk to colleagues, who would have warned him on the likely outcry.
The bishop faces criminal complaints on charges that his statement was “inciting people to crimes” against homosexuals.

That’s right. He should have said Obamanation.
He should be fired for stating biblical principles and then apologizing. Either you stand by what the bible says or you don’t belong in the ministry.
I never heard an apology from GOD in Leviticus— did you?
So he could be charged with a crime? Oh nice. I wonder how long before that is happening here. I will predict it will start within a year.

Oh that’s what I meant. I should have said that. He should be fired for apologizing. Then I noticed that he might be charged with a crime. I guess that was the motive for the apology.
We need a Donald Trump of the clergy.
Everyone wants to get upset over gay marriage or homosexuality in general but we need to keep our eye on the ball.
This brouhaha over homosexuality in our society for the last 40 years is a back door way to control religion and speech contrary to the First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States. It is a pathway to tyranny.
I defend freedom when it is under attack without reference to taking sides about religion or sexuality.
The Bishop should take a quick look at Isaiah 5:20
Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; and ... that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! ...
It’s a “back door” subterfuge all right.
Do you not think someone higher up ordered him to apologize, prior to the upcoming Synod??
Could this be another example of false obedience?
Not standing up for the truth IS an Abomination!
Maybe he could just back off a little bit and just call it “total depravity of the human soul.”
