That's not the purpose of FR and not the purpose of our Religion forum. Trashing religion is not debate.
Those who cannot live with this are welcome to post elsewhere.
Whatever.
You are not correct.
Thank you so much, Jim

Upper right corner list all the forums on FR. You can select one or all to
show up for you to read and post in.
I have a feeling that Protestant bashing threads will not be tolerated as well. and given the reaction from the FR community, I would say that would be applauded by Catholics and non Catholics alike.
I don’t mind a certain level of moderation to watch threads that are deemed unproductive entirely— but banning Alex Murphy of all people? He’s been a member for years! Really bizarre, and a clear evidence for the degeneration of the RF.
Whatever. You believe whatever you please, but the daily Catholic bashing threads are history.
I've been away and very ill,shalom b'SHEM Yah'shua HaMashiach

I assumed the mods policed this.
That is how it has operated since the beginning.
It is very clear that Pope Frank is a devotee ,
of Ernesto "Che" Guevara including the Harley-Davidson.I pray we don't stop sharing the "good news" or many ,
will be lost.It is most important now as we are in end times.
I ask this only to try to understand “bashing” — to call out unbiblical practice and theology? I have not, and will not ever “bash” a Catholic — however, is not the religion up for debate based on biblical grounds or theological foundation?
Hoss
This isn’t about me getting an answer. It is about respecting people who want to post and think “bashing” is totally inadequate to describe BANNED content. I respect an owners right to censor as long as they make their standard known to visitors so it doesn’t appear arbitrary. If it does appear arbitrary, I will leave anyway.
I also stopped asking Jim for an answer since he has definitely decided my question was unworthy of his sweat and effort, but I did ask others for their thoughts. I would give mine but I was curious about what others may think and did not want to prejudice their answers.
One of my sisters and I have that agreement. It works.
I remember reading that. Seems there have been many threads about being Catholic is only way to get to heaven. Someone even posted that they want the whole world to be Catholic. I remember asking the poster if that meant he/she wanted a one world religion. I was shocked when the reply was yes.
Hoss,
If someone says Catholics worship any of the following:
Mary
bread
the pope
statues
does this meet your definition of “bashing” ( which you say you would never do ) or is that just calling out unbiblical theology and practice according to your understanding?
You’re welcome.
Amen.
Jim said "Whatever" to me, and possibly in response to me saying that the RF has been good to me as a resource. I literally google "Free Republic + Mormonism + [some issue]" when I find myself in need of resources for debating or evangelizing LDS, and as a result I'll find hundreds of threads filled with debates, counter arguments from both sides, going back years, with websites, you tube videos, massive quotations from primary sources, etc etc.
Ironically, conflict and debate probably drives up traffic to the RF in the first place. Is debate from the RF going to be banned from here on forward?

and protect Thy people by Thy Holy Cross!
