“Your sins are forgiven. Go and sin no more.”

I am certain he did meet, and say that to, many homosexuals during His time on earth.

Mrs. Lentz added, “It’s not our place to tell anyone how they should live, it’s – that’s their journey.”

$10 says she does it almost every service.
“We need to reduce our carbon footprint”
“We need to help the homeless”
“we need to feed the hungry”
Etc

The first sentence is incorrect. The first perversion of God’s word was the serpent in the Garden of Eden. Well before Luther, it was perverted by members of the Catholic an Jewish hierarchies. Bringing up the idea that the Scriptures were intended for the common man did not bring us to this state.

"Mrs. Lentz added, “It’s not our place to tell anyone how they should live, it’s – that’s their journey.”

Yet the entire message of the bible, from beginning to end, is how we should live. The consequences for ignoring these precepts is quite extreme.

I knew this author wasn't worth reading when he started with: This whole perversion of the Word of God began when Luther said each person should interpret the Bible for themselves.

What Luther said was:

Luther said, "a simple layman armed with Scripture is greater than the mightiest pope without it".

To those that claim divorce is always unacceptable and condemn me as one who has participated in bringing down Christianity, please explain Matthew 19:9. I fall under the exception Jesus spoke of there.

This whole perversion of the Word of God began when Luther said each person should interpret the Bible for themselves. This has led to so called’ christians’ condoning and accepting homosexual sex and ‘marriage’.

At first I thought this might not be another Protestant-bashing thread (because of the charts that show Catholics adopting game marraiage in numbers higher than evangelicals), and then I was sure it was a bashing thread when I came to the following section of the article, complete with typos and errors:

This week the Presbyterian Church of American also voted to ‘embrace an inclusive definition of marriage‘.

‘The measure sought to replace a phrase in the church’s constitution that defined marriage as “a civil contract between a woman and a man” with a sentence reading “marriage involves a unique commitment between two people, traditionally a man and a woman, to love and support each other for the rest of their lives.”

Whatever the heck a "Presbyterian Church in American" is, the denomination that made the vote was the Presbyterian Church (USA).

What's to interpret? Simply read it, believe it, and do it.

Or face the punishment.

Jesus had this message to those who willfully sinned. Repent and sin no more. I haven’t found anywhere in the Gospels where Jesus said “I accept you in your sin and you may continue to sin and be saved.”

And it’s not just homosexuals, its murderers, adulterers, thieves, and liars.

I don’t think the big sin here is homosexuality, that is the sentence, not the crime, the crime is idolatry.

Look at the tactics of the activist zealots, look at the atheism and over-the-top bonkers hatred. So many are spiritual sickness bombs and honestly I think they are our early warning system in American society. We need to turn back to God as a nation, and figuring out how to diffuse some of our more flamboyant fellow citizens will offer us lessons on where we are going wrong as a nation.

I think Jesus would ask the people of that day “Do you remember Sodom and Gomorrah and their destruction?”

“That is what is coming to you.”

While it's admirable for the author to criticize Protestant denominations, the author failed to note the following:

So please don't blame Luther. It's most likely if the Catholic church started to practice what the supposedly preach, their membership would sorely decrease.

We are so blessed to be traditional Catholics and to believe in the complete Holy Bible. We have read where God calls homosexual sex an abomination and who destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.

Why the self-congratulations when the graphs show that almost half of the traditional Catholics accept homosexuality as an acceptable lifestyle? Didn't the author notice that most of the Protestant denominations scored much better, the exceptions being the so-called mainstream denominations which most of us have written off as apostate? The graphs show that the traditional Catholics have some work to do in their own house.

The Martin Luther introduction is just lame. Perversion of God's Word is consistently noted throughout both Old and New Testament and hardly originated with Martin Luther. I have no doubt that if Martin Luther were alive today he would be speaking out against homosexuality in far louder voice than any Catholic spokesman has.
