Its time to kneel down and pray for our nation
Posted on 26 June 2015 by Fr. John Zuhlsdorf
The Supreme Court came down in favor of same-sex marriage today. The Slip opinions are HERE.
Held: The Fourteenth Amendment requires a State to license a marriage between two people of the same sex and to recognize a marriage between two people of the same sex when their marriage was lawfully licensed and performed out-of-State. Pp. 328.
[
] KENNEDY, J., delivered the opinion of the Court, in which GINSBURG, BREYER, SOTOMAYOR, and KAGAN, JJ., joined.
ROBERTS, C. J., filed a dissenting opinion, in which SCALIA and THOMAS, JJ., joined.
SCALIA, J., filed a dissenting opinion, in which THOMAS, J., joined.
THOMAS, J., filed a dissenting opinion, in which SCALIA, J., joined.
ALITO, J., filed a dissenting opinion, in which SCALIA and THOMAS, JJ., joined.
There is no provision for any state which has its own laws limiting marriage to two sexes. Thus, this is now the law of the land in all 50 states.
Who wins? Not society. Perhaps divorce lawyers.
It may be that this was as inevitable as the night which follows the day. I had hoped not, but with only a little hope.

Never give up! Jesus fell beneath the weight of His Cross, but He went on, St Paul spoke about finishing the race. Nothing is impossible with God!

God hates no one who turns to Him with a humble heart. Sometimes He says, “no”. He still loves you very much.

Then love your neighbor and pray for him. Who is your neighbor? Jesus answered that one.

And I can’t help but point out that now is not the time for division and sniping at one another. Don’t you get it? This is huge, Thorne!

And you would begrudge your neighbor prayers? How about the innocent children growing up in this mess? Love your neighbor by praying for him and for the children who will be scandalized.

Then start praying; you have several million individual brethren to pray for.

Then pray for strength to endure and pray for the childrenTwo things I have learned never to pray for, Strength, and patience. every time I do God has "answered" by giving me trials to grow in those areas.

Ain't THAT the truth? I'm still waiting for the next shoe to drop so I can be more patient... Good one!
PS: The way my life has been going lately, I should have taken "Job-etta" for Confirmation, lol!

It’s NEVER too late for prayer. It’s also never too early.
It’s also time to hoist the Bonnie Blue.
Be aware. Be prepared. Do not hesitate.

Sure did! Have been praying the 9pm one for awhile already, along with any FR requests. Gonna pay at 11, too. The kids need it... 💞 💖 💞 They're exposed to so much and are going to grow up thinking this is normal,..

Thanks pleasant. I actually chose piusv as my siggie because I was hoping (and praying) for a piusv-like pope after Benedict resigned. No such luck.

Are you seriously suggesting that if God's people followed 2 Chronicles 7:14 in which Christians humbled themselves in prayer, sought His face, and turned from our wicked ways, that He would not answer. That that is somehow only something Israel could do?? I'm seriously telling you that America is not recognized as a nation in the scriptures, unless it is a type of Babylon, and that Second Chronicles was written about Israel. Gentiles may be grafted in with Israel, and they may then be cut off. God will answer Christians who humble themselves and pray. It just may not be the answer that they want from Second Chronicles, which was written for Israel. If there were enough Christians in America they would have been more fruitful and multiplied so that the land was not overrun by the heathen. I suppose contraception and consumer products were more important to those generations of women, and the men, the men became addicted to sports and sexual immorality. Babylon the Great, it works.

I don't disagree with the overall content of your post. I too do not find America in the Scriptures. It would be interesting if we're in the Last Generation.
I think we are for this country short of a massive revival.
