Internet condolences Andrew and to your family and friends too.
I am so sorry to hear of your loss and join with the all the others here lifting you and all the family and loved ones up to God for His peace, healing and guidance as you deal with her homegoing.
I’m so sorry for your loss
I am sorry for your loss. Prayers for your family.
It is good to mourn with missing her. But remember to also rejoice for her. She is with Jesus and having a great time. She has run her race and now she gets to enjoy the victory.
Also remember to laugh. As those special memories come to mind, it is OK to laugh and be joyful about them. She was a huge blessing in your life and it is OK to enjoy that blessing.
Grief is like the tide. It comes in waves, and goes out in waves. In the beginning it is like a tsunami, huge waves that almost crush us, but God will never allow them to. Then they recede for a time. During that time we feel almost normal, we are able to laugh and smile and play again. But then the next wave comes in and we grieve again.
If all the grief hit us at once it would destroy us. So God lets us bite it off in bits that we can handle, until we handle all we can, and then He lets us rest.
Don’t be upset at yourself, or feel guilty, if you find yourself actually feeling happy from time to time. Especially in these first few weeks and months. It is our normal state to be happy (joyful) and especially as Christians God blesses us with that.
Tina knows you love her and she would want you to be happy and live a good life. So do so.
I am so sorry for your loss, and for the time you’ll be going through. I will pray for you.
(I lost my wife 10 years ago this September. It does get easier eventually but the grieving process can take a long time.)
There is a song called “Knowing What I Know About Heaven” of of the “Breath Deep” album, sung by Guy Penrod; that seems to be appropriate for this occasion. God Bless you, keep you, comfort you, and strengthen you during this difficult time.
Knowing what I know about Heaven by Guy Penrod
I bet the trumpets play and the angels sing
Every sweet refrain of amazing grace
And the Heaven’s hands opened up the gate
And the children dance when they saw Your face
As happy as they were to see You coming
I was just as sad to have to watch You go, go but
Knowing what I know about Heaven
Believing that you’re all the way home
Knowing that you’re somewhere better
Is all I need to let you go
I could hope that I could pray you’re back
But why on earth would I do that
When you’re somewhere, life and love never ends
Oh, knowing what I know about heaven
Where every single voice makes a joyful noise
How sweet the sound when the saints rejoice
To every broken heart and every wounded soul
New life begins on streets of gold
But every tear that’s raining here from my eyes
I know the sun is shining where you are
Oh, knowing what I know about Heaven
Believing that you’re all the way home
Knowing that you’re somewhere better
Is all I need to let you go
I could hope that I could pray you’re back
But why on earth would I do that
When you’re somewhere, life and love never ends
Oh, knowing what I know about Heaven
I could hope that I could pray you’re back
But why on earth would I do that
When you’re somewhere, life and love never ends
Oh, knowing what I know about Heaven
Prayers and condolences.
