You had a different teacher than I. Perhaps one of us learned poorly.
Regardless, the church referred to in the Holy Bible clearly is not the Roman Catholic church.
Claiming that it is, in spite of the great numbers of RCs and the long tradition of the RCC, is a false claim that Scripture Itself disproves.
To: FatherofFive
Yeah, yeah yeah.
Typical flippant response to Scriptures from the Holy Bible by an RC on FR.

and not to a religious man-made strongholds of imagination...But Scripture says the Church is the Pillar and foundation of truth
Scripture does not say Scripture is the Pillar and foundation of truth
But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth. 1Tim 3:15

The Church of Rome has been around since Peter. What other made-up church can make that claim? To find the true Church, one need only look at the other end of the Roman church's sword.

The protestant reformation is simply not Biblical:FOF, the New Testament shows us that the church of Jesus Christ ..the one He founded and of which He the head had no pope no priests, no mass, no 7 sacraments, no "holy water', etc..
The church Christ founded was founded on Him ..He is the cornerstone ...
Men were already teaching false doctrine as Paul wrote that letter.. If you are interested in reading about it you can read Galatians ...where men that believed in Christ, believed He died and was raised from the dead.. were spreading false doctrines..negating the gospel Paul preached of salvation in and through Christ ALONE.. There were preaching a Christ PLUS gospel ..follow the laws..
That is a letter that could be written to Catholics today ... If it is Christ + anything it is a FALSE gospel
It is almost humorous to have a catholic that believes the pope is infallible..that kneel before him and kiss his ring to accuse protestants of following a man... think about it..Are you infallible ??

Typical flippant response to Scriptures from the Holy Bible by an RC on FR.You are a hoot. You can cut and paste the entire Bible here (as some do) But you never answer the specific question.
You said - The Holy Bible is the recorded Word of God. Everything else is mans erroneous addition and subtraction of the Truth, personified in the Lord Jesus Christ.
I asked where this belief is in Scripture. You NEVER ANSWERED THE QUETION Because you can't. Your man-made belief is not in Scripture, but it is your man-made tradition so you believe it.
You can cut and paste hundreds of verses that mention Scripture, but your man-made belief does not appear once in Scripture.
Now I may be wrong. Cite chapter and verse that supports your specific belief and I will go away.
And lets talk about Deuteronomy 4:2 You shall not add to the word that I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the Lord your God that I command you.
Why is anything after Deu 4:2 relevant? It is all added.
Another bonus question - what happened to "the word of mouth" mentioned in 2 Thessalonians 2:15 ?
So then, brothers and sisters, stand firm and hold fast to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter.
We Catholics know. The letters are the Bible, preserved by the Catholic Church.
What happened to the word of Mouth? What happened to all those things in John 21:25 that could fill more books than the world could hold?

Jesus is the Rock not some manROFL!!!!!
Isaiah 28:16 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, "Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a tested stone, A costly cornerstone for the foundation, firmly placed. He who believes in it will not be disturbed.
Psalms 118:22 The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief corner stone
Luke 20:17 But Jesus looked at them and said, "What then is this that is written: 'THE STONE WHICH THE BUILDERS REJECTED, THIS BECAME THE CHIEF CORNER stone'? -
1 Peter 2:4-8 And coming to Him as to a living stone which has been rejected by men, but is choice and precious in the sight of God, you also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. For this is contained in Scripture: "BEHOLD, I LAY IN ZION A CHOICE STONE, A PRECIOUS CORNER stone, AND HE WHO BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED." read more. This precious value, then, is for you who believe; but for those who disbelieve, "THE STONE WHICH THE BUILDERS REJECTED, THIS BECAME THE VERY CORNER stone," and, "A STONE OF STUMBLING AND A ROCK OF OFFENSE"; for they stumble because they are disobedient to the word, and to this doom they were also appointed.
Blessed be the Rock of my salvation !!!
