ROME, April 21, 2015 – Last week the Pontifical Oriental Institute mourned the mysterious death of one of its professors, Fr. Lanfranco Rossi, found lifeless in a rural area just outside Rome.

But also last week the institute was hit with a genuine institutional earthquake, with the decommissioning of its entire executive staff.

The order, signed by the superior general of the Society of Jesus, Fr. Adolfo Nicolás Pachón, the deputy grand chancellor of the institute, was up on the bulletin board for just one day. But many were able to read it and find out.

As of Tuesday, April 14, rector James McCann, vice-rector Massimo Pampaloni, and the deans of the faculties of ecclesiastical sciences and Eastern canon law, Philippe Luisier and Michael Kuchera, all Jesuits, have been removed from their positions.

I can’t answer that question. Perhaps someone who follows Vatican politics a bit more closely can give an opinion. But I do think it is significant.

Nor I. Looks like what they call “Byzantine politics.”

The Jesuits have always been a contentious and combative order. They have operated on the fringe of Catholicism for hundreds of years. Its why we have the Dominicans, to keep them in check and to run the Inquisition again when it becomes necessary.

I will make one observation. If I am reading this correctly, and a large number of Jesuits who once held prominent posts in the Vatican are now unemployed... well I just can’t see that as a bad thing.

The person appointed is graduate from Egypt specializing in Islamogogue. Most likely means that the Catholic Church has replaced the Society of Jesus - Jesuits with some people whom are pro-Islamic. Sounds like the catholic hierarchy will be part of the One World Religion. No good, but this has been in the works according to the article since 2009. Just wonder what did the US Government promise.

Islamogue - translated from French - Islamic scholar. Why the need for an Islamic scholar in leadership of the Society of Jesus? Has the Society of Jesus been changed to the Society of Mohammed? i remember my undergraduate years in a Wisconsin public school - a catholic priest/Professor stated that the Islamic faith is the only true pure faith.

Good question. I've been trying to find out more about the mysterious death of Fr. Rossi as well.

Pope Francis, was not he Jesuit too? Sounds weird when the Pope had spoken supposedly erroneously about the dialogue with Islam. jesuits known for missionaries to the educated across the world. What becomes of the Jesuits lead institutions of Higher Learning, examples Marquette, Loyola, and many others.

Father Samir on ISIS: ‘What They Are Doing Is Diabolical’ (29424)
..
What are the reasons for the murderous rampage currently being undertaken by the jihadist troops of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS)? A decline in moral values in the West, coupled with a history of violent conquest within Islam, is behind the “diabolical” atrocities committed in Iraq and Syria by these Islamic militants, many of whom are uneducated and at the mercy of fundamentalist preachers.

It’s the fault of the moral decline in the West” according to Samir.

More of what this guy thinks:

http://www.ewtn.com/library/CHISTORY/zislamplan.htm

“The coexistence of Christians and Muslims is good for civil society because their mutual questioning of the other’s faith acts as a stimulus and leads to deeper understanding, says a Jesuit priest who is an expert in Islamic studies.

This is the opinion of Father Samir Khalil Samir, an Islamic scholar and Catholic theologian born in Egypt and based in the Middle East for more than 20 years.”

It seems like this guy is putting the Christian and Muslim religion on the same footing. Mohamed was a false and evil pedophile who told his followers to murder nonbelievers. By contrast, Jesus spread the gospel of love and gave his life for our salvation.

In reading Pope Emeritus Benedicts XVI’s Regensburg Address of September 2006. The Fundamenalist Islamic Response is that Islam would be overtaking Rome. Oddly enough ISIS or ISIL claimed the same in 2014-2015> So the other isse is that it was believed that Pope Benedict was referring to a Islamic Scholar whom was disputed by others is the Muslim faith as a heretic. Oddly enough Popw Bwnedict was to apologize over and over again to many Muslims whom were dissatisfied by his apology. the Society of Jesus (jesuits) came about by Ignatius Loyola whom were to become the leadership in the Catholic Hierarchy that lead the Teaching Schools of the Catholic Faith throughout the world.

In reading the criticism of the Regensburg speech it was deemed that the Pope should lower his standards of Conservative thought and strives to find a mutual understanding with those of the Muslim faith.

Excuse me but Islam is not the same as Christianity, Islam is based more on the occultic practices that were of the nomadic tribes that made up the country surrounding Medina and Mecca. The Islamic faith is not based on really anything Godly, it is based on the teachings more of Bezelbub (Satan). Islam worship a black rock, required pilgrimages to holy places for ritualistic cleansing. Jesus Christ broght mankind into a relationship with God. Ritualistic practices do not earn a place in heaven - these are an offset of a religion not based in a faith practice.

i wish i had more time to address the issue, as i have to get to bed as I drive from the UP of Michigan to Grand Rapids, Mi (lower Michigan 500 miles away) for stomach surgery on Thursday April 23, 2015
