Im sorry, did I say the Bereans had any authority? No I did not. I said that they searched the scriptures daily to see if the things that were said authoritatively were in fact scriptural. Which is exactly what we are called to do. That way we dont end up believing nonsense spewed from fallible men who are somehow believed to possess truth from outside Gods Word. You seem to be writing that the Bereans were capable of judging whether the things that were said authoritatively were in fact scriptural. The things that were said authoritatively were in fact scriptural, because the Apostle Paul was a chosen vessel of the LORD Jesus Christ and it was the Apostle Paul saying them. Searching the scriptures only helped the Bereans to believe him; it did not grant them any help in separating truth from error. There was no error. Concerning the Bereans, it was all about the evangelism of them by an apostle.

Then why don't Roman Catholics LISTEN and HEED Paul?
(Well, the Holy Spirit promptings through Paul.)
Why does the RCC downplay Paul's writings, even explain some of them away, while lifting up Peter and James?

Avoidance of reality!
According to Luke, Paul’s evangelism was the teaching of Torah and the prophets.
The Bereans, like Paul, had been taught Torah and the prophets in their synagogue all their lives. Paul’s teaching of Yeshua’s fulfillments is what they were verifying. Yeshua was new, the ancient Tanakh was old, and they were making sure he wasn’t twisting it.

We can look into SCRIPTURE and see if the Catholics practices and teachings line up with them.

... it did not grant them any help in separating truth from error. Oh?
If the 'things he said' were NOT found in Scripture; I can purty much assure you in would have been noted in SCRIPTURE.
John had NO qualms about writing down the ERROR that was being taught in those CATHOLIC churches in Asia.
