My dad passed shortly before 5PM EST. We knew this was coming but thought he would last another week or so. However, late this morning he went into a very sudden system failure. Sadly I was not able to be there but my sisters and his closest friend were with him in the end. He had received Holy Communion several times during the last week and was given the last rites of the Catholic Church this morning.
What I believe: The only thing he lost is the abiility to be here physically for you and the rest of the people he card for. Otherwise, as for him, if he was a believer in the Lord, all of his pain is gone. He is truly in a FAR better place.
So prayers up for you and your family here.

For Your Dad
I lost my brother in November, and it feels like yesterday, and it will feel like yesterday for the rest of my life. God be with you NRx. I join all other FReepers with prayers, candles, and sufferings. And I look forward to meeting your father and family in heaven.
Prayers for your family and condolences for your loss.
Please address your prayers to NRx;
I’m so sorry
My Mom is 90 and in the home, we are just waiting the day
Alzhiemers is not a good way to go.
You have my deepest sympathy.
Freepers greeted me in 2004 when I lost my Dad.
So sorry. Prayers for your dad’s soul and for your family at this sad time.
I am so sorry for your loss. Praying.
O God, who hast commanded us to honor our father and our mother; in Thy mercy have pity on the soul of NRx’s father, and forgive his trespasses; and make NRx to see him again in the joy of everlasting brightness. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Prayers up brother! Love never dies. I still feel close to my dad frequently especially when I am doing something he also did and taught me, gardening, canning, making kraut. As we get older there are more and more people waiting for us on the other side. It will be a joyous reunion.
May you and yours know PEACE that faith provides...
Eternal rest grant to him O Lord
and may perpetual light shine upon him,
may his soul and all the souls of the faithfully departed,
though the Mercy of God rest in peace.
Sorry for your loss. I know it hurts. My dad’s death anniversary is coming up May 3rd; seven years already. I can’t believe it.

Im sorry..
Condolences for your loss.
So sorry for your loss. Prayers on the way.
God bless him and you! My dad went in a similar fashion in that my mom and I knew the end was coming, but had both expressed that we didn’t think it would be that particular day. We were wrong. I will tell you that in years to come, you will have warm thoughts about his having the last rites. Again, God bless him and you.
Prayers lifted for you and your family in this stressful time of loss of your Dad.
