“Peter of Ghent, writing from Mexico in 1529, states that another priest and himself had baptized in the province of Mexico more than 200,000 persons; and often eight, and sometimes even ten or fourteen, thousand in a day.

C'mon yer killin' me here...14,000 a day is almost 10 per minute 24 hours a day...

“C’mon yer killin’ me here...14,000 a day is almost 10 per minute 24 hours a day...”

It takes 5 seconds (or even less) to baptize someone.

Remember, this is how long it takes:

While pouring water over their heads you say the following words, “I baptize you in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.”

No more than 5 seconds.

Thus, two men could baptize 24 people per minute between them. That’s 1440 people in a single hour. In ten hours that would be 14,400 people.

It's possible!!!

Let's try some easy math:

There are approximately 1.2 billion Catholics world wide;

If merely 1% of them  'ask' Mary for help just once each day;

that means that 12 million separate prayers are headed Mary's direction every day.

Given that there are 86,400 seconds per day... (24 hours times 60 minutes times 60 seconds)

...that means that Mary has to handle approximately 139 'requests' per second!

Purty good fer someone NOT 'divine'!
