Consider for a moment... what if the Catholic Church had NOT produced the COUNTER Reformation. What would Catholicism look like today?
Even further... Consider that the abuses Martin Luther posted about were generally cleaned up in the next generation or so. The things we are accursed for today in the eyes of Protestants (Mary, Mass, Eucharist, et al) weren't issues for Martin Luther. Had the Church reformed before the 95 Theses, we wouldn't have the divisions we do today.
