Presbyterian Church (USA) votes to formally recognize gay marriage and allow same-sex weddings
The PCA in both its doctrinal standards (Westminster Confession of Faith, Chapter 24 Of Marriage and Divorce) and church polity (Book of Church Order, Chapter 59, The Solemnization of Marriage) affirms biblical marriage as being between one man and one woman. Neither the General Assembly nor any of the Presbyteries nor any Session (board of elders) of any congregation that is presently a member of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) has redefined marriage. Nor does the PCA intend to do so.
Problem is a covenant relationship includes God and God can never be partner to a lie without some sort of curse taking place.
So, he is lying to the people and he is putting God in a position to where He is forced to witness the lie.
Nothing good can come from this.
“On March 17, 2015 the Presbyterian Church (USA) approved language that allows its ministers to officiate at same-sex marriages in its churches.”
But only in the states where the civil authorities patted them on the head and told them it is OK. Think about that. Even though they believe it is possible, the state’s authority and their location determines if they will marry their members or not. Way to fight the power.

I am a member of a PCA church. The only thing Presbyterian about the PC(USA) is their name. They are apostate and vile.
The real problem is not capitulation in order that the Churches might prosper, prosper they will not. Socialism has shown it educates the children in a single generation to leave the Great Churches in Europe empty. The USA may have churches longer simply due to homeschooling and limited radio/TV/print media.
Because even the priests of old were seen in the Bible to serve both Good and Evil, or God and his evil competitor the Devil, it is easy to see organized religion becoming something where the priests either support Good or Bad.
God bless them for upholding Christian moral truth.
>> There are several Presbyterian denominations in the United States <<
Several? You gotta be kidding. I think it’s more like “several dozen.”
Sounds like 2Peter 2 is talking about these church leaders.

I assume this is a direct quote from the BCO. Why the inclusion of the word "traditionally"? At best, it seems unnecessary, at worst, it could be used as a wedge to start introducing exceptions. IMO, its exclusion would make a stronger and more definitive statement.
Just curious. I'm not concerned about the PCA going rogue on this issue. Am I missing something?
Deuteronomy 7:10 So it shall be, when the Lord your God brings you into the land of which He swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give you large and beautiful cities which you did not build, 11 houses full of all good things, which you did not fill, hewn-out wells which you did not dig, vineyards and olive trees which you did not plantwhen you have eaten and are full 12 then beware, lest you forget the Lord who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage. 13 You shall fear the Lord your God and serve Him, and shall take oaths in His name. 14 You shall not go after other gods, the gods of the peoples who are all around you 15 (for the Lord your God is a jealous God among you), lest the anger of the Lord your God be aroused against you and destroy you from the face of the earth.
16 You shall not tempt the Lord your God as you tempted Him in Massah. 17 You shall diligently keep the commandments of the Lord your God, His testimonies, and His statutes which He has commanded you. 18 And you shall do what is right and good in the sight of the Lord, that it may be well with you, and that you may go in and possess the good land of which the Lord swore to your fathers, 19 to cast out all your enemies from before you, as the Lord has spoken.
So, no divorce? Civil punishment for adultery?
