Archbishop Fulton Sheen once wrote: There are not over a hundred people in the United State who hate the Roman Catholic Church; there are millions, however, who hate what they wrongly believe to be the Catholic Church.
I was one of those who hated because of what I wrongly believed about the Catholic Church. The reason I had these beliefs was due to being told what to believe about the Catholic Church from those who were told what to believe about the Catholic Church. No one was willing to find out what the bottom line was concerning the Catholic Church. Everything said about the Church was taken as truth while it seemed no one was delving into what the truth really was.
What about these Catholics? They worshipped Mary. They had a religion but not a relationship with Jesus Christ. They said they believed in God but really their belief couldnt be the same, could it? The Bible says in James 2:19 KJV Thou believest that there is one God; Thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
So do Catholics have a belief such as the devils? When most Catholics are asked if they have been born again or have accepted Christ as their Savior, their main response is I believe in God or I am a good person, or Im Catholic. Also, they have all these rituals, Saints, Statues and what about the Pope is he really standing in for God? Another big item, are they cannibals when they eat the bread and drink the wine during communion? Why do they leave Jesus on the cross, dont they realize Jesus has risen from the dead?

Do you prots still have Genesis in your Bibles?
Genesis 4:8 Now Cain said to his brother Abel, "Let's go out to the field." While they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him.
Masonry is a parallel religion to Christianity. The New Catholic Encyclopedia states, "Freemasonry displays all the elements of religion, and as such it becomes a rival to the religion of the Gospel. It includes temples and altars, prayers, a moral code, worship, vestments, feast days, the promise of reward or punishment in the afterlife, a hierarchy, and initiation and burial rites."
The infidels say their religion is simple...

A dog returning to WHAT???
Jesus was walking along one day, when He came upon a group of people surrounding a lady of ill repute. It was obvious that the crowd was preparing to stone her, so Jesus made His now-famous statement, "Let the person who has no sin cast the first stone."
The crowd was shamed and one by one began to turn away. All of a sudden, a lovely little woman made her way through the crowd. Finally getting to the front, she tossed a pebble towards the woman.
Jesus looks over and says, "I really hate it when you do that, Mom."

There’s that number again.
Involvement in these threads, for a professing Christian, without lapsing into Romans chapter 7, is a strong test for me because I’m faced each time with many of the verbal utensils men have fashioned to resist the truth. These verbal tools no longer are available to me, desiring more to walk in the Spirit.
Posting here on FR RF is an opportunity of practicing living in Romans Chapter 8 by leaning in faith on the Lord Jesus and not my own machinations...trusting in the Truth.
Often I fail and often I just have to flee the temptation and pull the plug.
It’s good to see you posting this morning.
Actually my initial response was to terrycarl’s comment (post #403) that we’re all baptized Catholic. No we aren’t. I’m baptized as a Christian follower of Jesus Christ.
Then you responded with a comment about Holy water in different flavors (your post #429). That’s where the holy water part of the equation came into play.
I’m not the one that keeps telling every one that if they’re baptized then they’re baptized as a Catholic. I was disputing that! My allegiance is to no Church but directly to Jesus Christ!
See, that's where the chink is in your armor. Martin Luther did not Found our church so we didn't have to wait at all! Jesus Christ found the CHRISTian church which we follow. People went to heaven because they chose to commit their lives to and they followed the teaching of Jesus.
“Riiight...just like you do on threads about former Roman Catholics converting to Protestantism or Evangelicalism”
Show me one. In the years that I have been posting I cant ever recall a thread about a Catholic converting to protestantism or evangelicalism. Please surprise me. Show me one and if it does exist show me where I ranted and raved and called the guy a lunatic? The vast majority of the Religious forum are threads started by Catholics. I guess that’s because protestants are not proud of their faith. Now get busy and show me threads about Catholics that jumped to the protestant faith. Happy hunting.
Actually the problem with understanding God's true Word goes back to Genesis.
Did God really say......?
Wait to show up? There are 4 Gospel accounts where you can find Messiah in space and time on this earth. The Gospel of Jesus Christ stands on its own. If one wants to drink of the Living Water, one must go to the Well, and that is Jesus Christ (Yeshua Messiah)
If you are all the true word of God....why wait 1500 years to show up?
The True Word of God is found here:
John 1:
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. 8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. 11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not. 12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Jesus Christ is the True Word of God. I learned that from my parents and in kindergarten catechism at St. Peter's Catholic grade school.
