Luther wrote down a seven point plan for the future Holocaust, 7-point? LOL. Catholics had more than that. Any distinctive marks for Jews in that plan? Murder? Wonder where the Nazis got those ideas? All practiced by the OTC before and after Luther. The Nazis learned at Rome's knee.

More teaching from the false
apostle :
I have read and heard many stories about the Jews which agree with this judgment of Christ, namely, how they have poisoned wells, made assassinations, kidnapped children, as related before. I have heard that one Jew sent another Jew, and this by means of a Christian, a pot of blood, together with a barrel of wine, in which when drunk empty, a dead Jew was found. There are many other similar stories. For their kidnapping of children they have often been burned at the stake or banished (as we already heard). I am well aware that they deny all of this. However, it all coincides with the judgment of Christ which declares that they are venomous, bitter, vindictive, tricky serpents, assassins, and children of the devil who sting and work harm stealthily wherever they cannot do it openly. For this reason I should like to see them where there are no Christians. The Turks and other heathen do not tolerate what we Christians endure from these venomous serpents and young devils. Nor do the Jews treat any others as they do us Christians. That is what I had in mind when I said earlier that, next to the devil, a Christian has no more bitter and galling foe than a Jew. There is no other to whom we accord as many benefactions and from whom we suffer as much as we do from these base children of the devil, this brood of vipers.
Now let me commend these Jews sincerely to whoever feels the desire to shelter and feed them, to honor them, to be fleeced, robbed, plundered, defamed, vilified, and cursed by them, and to suffer every evil at their hands - these venomous serpents and devil's children, who are the most vehement enemies of Christ our Lord and of us all. And if that is not enough, let him stuff them into his mouth, or crawl into their behind and worship this holy object. Then let him boast of his mercy, then let him boast that he has strengthened the devil and his brood for further blaspheming our dear Lord and the precious blood with which we Christians are redeemed. Then he will be a perfect Christian, filled with works of mercy for which Christ will reward him on the Day of Judgment, together with the Jews in the eternal fire of hell!

Again irrelevant to the subject.Did you read the posted article ? The author appealed to Luther as a character witness, introduced him into evidence, so to speak.

From Luther and the adversary Sure, the adversary took all that time off before Luther. Will you next contend that the OTC's AS was from God Himself? His alleged Vicars were up to their neck in it long before Luther. Some even became Saints. The question then becomes why wasn't this a sin when the Popes did it? Or is the bile only for successful 'heretics? Or did this count as a canonization 'miracle'? Making the Jews disappear? From the looks of it, there should have been a lot more Popes making saint.

Great article! The prophesies found in the Old Testament which are clearly unfolding today should close the case on any doubt if you ask me.

Yes. By whom were they universally accepted? The Council of Carthage (397) was the first Council to publish a list of all the inspired books of the Bible. The Council of Florence repeated the canon of the Bible, and it was restated at the Council of Trent.

What John MacArthur or any other protestant fails to understand is they have accepted the authority of the Catholic Church every time they pick up a Bible. The Bible didn’t just drop out of the sky, spiral bound, with an NKJV sticker on it. The Catholic Church chose which books to include in the Bible in the Synod of Hippo (393 AD) and confirmed it at Carthage (397 AD). Without the Catholic Church there would be no Bible.

That demand for praise and glory is something the Catholic Church would do well to abandon and start giving glory to God where it belongs.

Third, the writing had to have general consensus by the church as an inspired book. Thus, when various councils met in church history to consider the canon, they did not vote for the canonicity of a book but rather recognized, after the fact, what God had already written. Here MacArthur interrupts his steady stream of arguing from his conclusions and steps into dangerous (for the sola defense) territory.
"...the church...."???? What is he talking about? Is it that invisible entity of all real Christians who may be found anywhere and everywhere?
I believe that is his ecclesiology. It is surely that of many who post here.
Question arises: How can consensus exist among the invisible?
