What John MacArthur or any other protestant fails to understand is they have accepted the authority of the Catholic Church every time they pick up a Bible. The Bible didn’t just drop out of the sky, spiral bound, with an NKJV sticker on it. The Catholic Church chose which books to include in the Bible in the Synod of Hippo (393 AD) and confirmed it at Carthage (397 AD). Without the Catholic Church there would be no Bible.

That demand for praise and glory is something the Catholic Church would do well to abandon and start giving glory to God where it belongs.

We have the Bible in the hands of individuals and in their own language IN SPITE of Rome. While individuals within the Catholic Church did play roles in the preservation and translation of GOD’s WORD, there are thousands of folks who God inspired to write, translate, copy, print, hide, distribute, and preserve His Word - many lost their lives in this effort. The OT was complete long before Jesus walked on the Earth. The NT was written and circulating among churches long before any man proclaimed himself a religious monarch.

On one of my first visits to the religion forum, I came across the asinine claim that Rome created the Bible. Such arrogance and ignorance of God’s Word has no place among Believers. Its GOD’s WORD. He inspired it. It is NOT the invention of man, or his religion. If you reject the Author, you will NEVER receive His revelation.

By your line of reasoning then the Scriptures are the word of the Catholic church and not God. Therefore, your logic concludes that the Catholic church must be God.
