The Apostle’s Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord: Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary; suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

I am Catholic. This is what I believe. Now tell me I don’t believe in Jesus Christ. Four Congressional Medals since WW1 have been awarded to Catholic Chaplains. Can you tell me they didn’t believe in Jesus Christ?

Not exactly sure what a Congressional Medal is, but I’ll assume you mean the Medal of Honor. So what does that mean? I’m sure that at least one or two atheists received the same.

I believe that if you believe Christ is the Son of God you are a Christian. I did not realize the slightly different meanings of the word among denominations. I can’t remember chapter and verse but the Bible said the different churches were for different people. Muslims believe that Christ will return and ask his father for forgiveness and break all the crosses. The think that Christ is a minor prophet and will fallow the Mahdi.

Oh plenty of people right here on this site will tell you that. If you’ve been here any length of time you will have seen the religious wars that erupt here.

It is disgusting.

Do Mormons believe in the same Jesus Christ as you do? Muslims believe in a Jesus. Is it the same one you do?

I have a friend whose brother became Evangelical and attacked he faith, he wouldn’t even allow their mother to have a funeral Mass although she was a practicing Catholic. She used to ask what she could say to him about what she believed and I told her, just give him the Apostle’s Creed.

Any “Catholic” who attends Mass regularly and doesn’t know they are Christian are seriously mentally challenged or God has hardened their hearts.

There are depictions of Christ everywhere, his name is spoken continually, the Gospel is so sacred that the priest reads it. Just the Sign of the Cross should be enough for most.
