This is only the second place where God breathes on man in Scripture, so we know this is significant. Jesus was creating His priesthood, with the power to forgive sins.
An amazing event in the Church.

Actually, when I read this, nowhere in Scripture is it written that you must confess to a priest. You confess directly to the Lord.

I am very sorry that your thread was hijacked.
The Sacrament of Confession is amazing. I made an A.C.T.S. retreat a few weeks ago. I made Cursillo as well. The night of reconciliation was a life changing event for a lot of guys. One hadn't been to confession for 20 years
