God acts in mysterious ways. That truth is made particularly evident in the types of things he does with those who are especially close to him.
Here are a few saints who totally had superpowers:

2 Thessalonians 2:9 The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders, 10 and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11 Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, 12 in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
Signs and wonders are not the test of truth. The church builds on the firm foundation which is the prophets, apostles, with Jesus as the corner stone. New revelations, secret teachings, and miracles have nothing to do with truth.
If God still is in the miracle business, what do you suppose happens to those who, for whatever reason or motivation, call the work of God the work of Satan?
Why would Satan do miracles that people then believe are proof of God and strengthen their faith and belief in God?
Seems like that would work against him and his own interests. Why would Satan do that?
...”How are they going to explain all those missing people after the rapture?”....
Actually I’m really not so sure they’ll notice as I think there are a whole lot less people going ....the generations before us are already gone....and as the years pass there are far less even willing to hear the gospel message let alone believe it.
I have heard some say the New Age Spiritualists are all set for UFOS to take them out of here! LOLLOL....
Well He already shows His Glory, Power and Grace In Jesus Christ and in every person who accepts his finished work on their behalf.....all of which are the greatest miracles among men.....Not to mention throughout His creation...which in both the New and the Old testament reflects all of this as well.
(Even in the days of the Apostles there were fakes coping the miracles and desiring the ability to do what they did.)
But most of all He has given us His Word and His Spirit within us...to miraculously guide us throughout life.
The enemy of God has always counterfeited every thing HE can that God has done.....his tactics remain the same in that respect. So of course he's also going to counterfeit miracles....and does.
Do you understand what an anti Christ is? Which God are they strengthening their faith in? The anti Christ? Why do you think God warned us of he who will appear as "an angel of light"?
2 Corinthians 11:14 And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. 15 It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.
We are told that signs and wonders will come.
2 Thessalonians 2:9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
>>Seems like that would work against him and his own interests.<<
Not according to scripture. It's exactly what Satan wants to do. Counterfeit what God does to make people think that he is God.
>>Why would Satan do that?<<
Because when the day comes many will believe he is Christ on earth and he will set himself up as God.
Oh they will notice. It will still be millions world wide.
If I recall, no where in the vision did the apiration tell anyone to place their faith in Christ. Instead it was "Mary" telling people to say Hail Mary's and other stuff.
Would Satan appear as Mary to deceive people? You betcha he would.
I find it ironic that the very people who so readily dismiss Benny Hinn and other like him so readily accept Fatima and other "visions" like it.
For the record....I don't believe Benny Hinn is legit nor are the vast majority of the "televangelists". Too many have been proven to be fakes.
But to the question....is/can God still in the miracle business? Yes He is. I can testify to two that I've seen myself.
If you count my passing algebra in high school then three! :)
When Benny Hinn had his church in Orlando a friend of mine and I attended many times as he was a very good teacher of the customs and history of the middle east and Bible history. We stayed for a little while when he began his “healing ministry” and I can assure you it was all fake. It didn’t us long to get out of there.
True.
Your Bible reference and mine can both be true, in fact are true, however.
Fr. Jaki was a brilliant man, and that was a great article. Thanks for posting it.
"Oh My Jesus, forgive us our sins. Save us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls to Heaven, especially those most in need of Thy Mercy".
Fwiw, I was reluctant to ask you at all, as I fear that you might do yourself harm, but my curiosity got the better of me.
Your way of understanding isn't unique, as others here seem to share it, but I still don't understand it and am trying to.
Thanks.
The incidents at Fatima took place over an extended period.
From what I've read, and my understanding is that of a fairly low info, non-Catholic, the Catholic hierarchy sat on it for a long time, but finally declared Fatima to be the real deal.
Miracles may or may not happen today. God works as He wills.
If God still is in the miracle business, what do you suppose happens to those who, for whatever reason or motivation, call the work of God the work of Satan?
This is irrelevant. We are all sinners and imperfect. If we are clothed in Jesus' righteousness, we are forgiven. If not, we are condemned.
Why would Satan do miracles that people then believe are proof of God and strengthen their faith and belief in God?
Ah, that's the rub. Satan would do miracles to draw us away from God. He wouldn't have to make a major change, just a slight addition is enough. Even the snake in the garden quoted God, but with a slight addition. God said "eat and you will die". Satan quoted as "eat or touch and you will die". Something can seem like it is from God, but the slight change or small addition makes a world of difference.
Seems like that would work against him and his own interests. Why would Satan do that?
Satan doesn't work to increase faith in God. He works to twist and pervert. He adds small little bits and slowly whittles away at the core, until only the little bits are left and the core is lost.
Or you simply didn't recognize the answer. Which question do feel I didn't answer?
Never mind. It’s not important. Sorry to have brought it up.
If you are really interested and have an open mind....
Remmeber....the enemy uses a little lie mixed in with the truth.....but it's still a lie.
On the same website, there is recorded an interview between Sister Lucy (the 10-year-old shepherd girl who was among the three children who saw the apparitions in 1917) and a Father Fuentes. The interview took place in 1957. In this interview focusing on Fatima and its message, Sister Lucy says the following:
"Father, the devil is in the mood for engaging in a decisive battle against the Blessed Virgin, and the devil knows what it is that most offends God, and which in a short space of time will gain for him the greatest number of souls. Thus the devil does everything to overcome souls consecrated to God, because in this way the devil will succeed in leaving the souls of the faithful abandoned by their leaders, thereby the more easily to seize them.
"Father, the Most Holy Virgin did not tell me that we are in the last times of the world, but She made me understand this for three reasons. The first reason is because She told me that the devil is in the mood for engaging in a decisive battle against the Virgin. And a decisive battle is the final battle where one side will be victorious and the other side will suffer defeat. Hence from now on we must choose sides. Either we are for God or we are for the devil; there is no other possibility.
"The second reason is because She said to my cousins as well as to myself, that God is giving two last remedies to the world. They are the Holy Rosary and devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. These are the last two remedies which signify that there will be no others.
"The third reason is because in the plans of Divine Providence, God always, before He is about to chastise the world, exhausts all other remedies. Now, when He sees that the world pays no attention whatsoever then, as we say in our imperfect manner of speaking, He offers us with a certain trepidation the last means of salvation, His Most Holy Mother. It is with a certain trepidation because if you despise and reject this ultimate means, we will not have any more forgiveness from Heaven, because we will have committed a sin which the Gospel calls the sin against the Holy Ghost. This sin consists of openly rejecting, with full knowledge and consent, the salvation which He offers. Let us remember that Jesus Christ is a very good Son and that He does not permit that we offend and despise His Most Holy Mother. We have recorded through many centuries of Church history the obvious testimony which demonstrates by the terrible chastisements which have befallen those who have attacked the honor of His Most Holy Mother, how Our Lord Jesus Christ has always defended the honor of His Mother.
"The two means for saving the world are prayer and sacrifice. [Regarding the Holy Rosary, Sister Lucy said:] Look, Father, the Most Holy Virgin, in these last times in which we live, has given a new efficacy to the recitation of the Rosary to such an extent that there is no problem, no matter how difficult it is, whether temporal or above all spiritual, in the personal life of each one of us, of our families, of the families of the world or of the religious communities, or even of the life of peoples and nations, that cannot be solved by the Rosary. There is no problem, I tell you, no matter how difficult it is, that we cannot resolve by the prayer of the Holy Rosary. With the Holy Rosary we will sanctify ourselves. We will console Our Lord and obtain the salvation of many souls. "Finally, devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, our Most Holy Mother, consists in considering Her as the seat of mercy, of goodness and of pardon, and as the sure door of entering Heaven."

I've read, and this is from my memory after a few too many head traumas, something along the lines of the multitude of followers saying the Rosary will be the chains that will bind Satan.
The parts about not dissing Mary and how Jesus feels about those who do is also familiar and similar to things I've read from other sources.
Because of that and other things, I do worry quite a bit about some of the posters here and how they might be condemning themselves by what they've written.
For that reason, I don't want to say too much if doing so will start some down that path.
We all have our own understanding and I'm used to being the odd man out. However, now a new fear of God is a part of mine and I don't want to step across the line or encourage others to.
Thanks again for that post.
Wait, what?
I thought Catholics called Mary the *Spouse of the Holy Spirit*....
So she's the daughter of God, the mother and wife of Jesus and the wife of the Holy Spirit?
Sheesh......
That was not Christ.. Pio was a charlatan... if they saw a christ through him..it was a false christ
