It’s beginning to look that way; both heterosexual and homosexual.

Have you heard of Natural Family Planning? (It’s not birth control.)

Can the Pope be impeached and removed?

I'm kinda hoping that Pope-Emeritus Benedict comes out of retirement. "Thanks for holding the fort Francis, but I feel better now. I'll take the keys to the Palace and to the Popemobile. And back to Argentina you go."

Not likely (or legal), but I can dream.

Are we sure he’s a priest? He’s sounding awfully like a socialist leader from South America.

The ObamaPope.

“”””To enter the United States from the border of Mexico would be a beautiful thing, as a sign of brotherhood and of help to the immigrants,” he said. “But you know that going to Mexico without going to visit the Madonna is a drama.””””

FU Francis. Take your border jumpers to the Vatican.

“I felt as though I was annihilated. I almost couldn’t speak.”

Would that that where true! He never ceases to speak, usually out of both sides of his mouth and often out of his ass.

Well, it is certainly true that a lot of rich countries give aid to African and other poorer countries, on condition that they use condoms and birth control and abortion. The UN is one of the worst offenders in this regard.

The Pope is quite right to criticize that.

On the other hand, while it is perhaps true that parents should act responsibly and not have more children than they can take care of, and the Church recognizes that Catholics can under proper circumstances resort to natural family planning, it is certainly NOT the case that he should criticize a mother for having an eighth child. Good grief. That is totally wrong.

We have thirteen children, the oldest now 52, and so far all of them have turned out well. We now have 16 grandchildren, going on 18, and so far all of them have turned out well, although doctors tried to persuade them to abort a couple of them. Is the Pope saying that is wrong?

Does the Pope remember that St. Catherine of Siena, who might be said to have saved the Papacy from its ruinous exile in France, was the 25th child of her parents? She was one of the greatest advisers a Pope has ever had.

When I first saw this, I thought the Catholic Fishwrap might be twisting his remarks, as it so often does. But the stupidity of his comment about an eighth child speaks for itself.

It’s one of your business, Francis! Don’t be a jerk! Not a heretic, but a jerk! Let God and the mother decide!

Now,now. This is the man, according to our Catholic brethren, God chose to lead his church. This man also has the ability to interpret scripture for the unwashed masses don’t you know

God’s greatest blessing to the living is, “I will multiply thy seed.”

God’s greatest curse to the living is, “I will cut off thy generations.”

Francis would have people reject the blessing and volunteer for the curse.

Then again, what better way for the Mohammedans to completely inundate Europe than if the indigenous peoples cease to multiply.

The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world.

Well, he actually said it, and it’s all over the press now.

I think the poor man just isn’t very bright and he doesn’t realize the impact of his words.

Apparently, he only chooses to wear Peter’s right shoe.

That’s why he leans so much to the left.

Perhaps you should re-read the following from CCC:

2398 Fecundity is a good, a gift and an end of marriage. By giving life, spouses participate in God’s fatherhood.

2399 The regulation of births represents one of the aspects of responsible fatherhood and motherhood. Legitimate intentions on the part of the spouses do not justify recourse to morally unacceptable means (for example, direct sterilization or contraception).

Responsible fatherhood and motherhood in part, means exercising self control when the family doesn’t have the ability to reasonably care for the child (think very poor families, like many in the Philippines).

Just so. And I would add to what I said earlier, what must the poor mother in question think about all this horrible publicity? She knows who she is, even if the press doesn't name her. What do her children and her friends think of it? What will her hoped-for child think of it, when his little friends tell him what their parents have told them, and tease him about it?

Disgusting. And none of his business.

You’re quoting JP II’s catechism, which I consider to be inferior.

It controls conception and birth!

So, by not accepting gifts with strings, as in the example he gave of sodomite propaganda, is a bad thing? Have you heard what the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation is doing in Africa, specifically with artificial birth control?

Would you prefer he not speak out about that?

Is he not supposed to reiterate the teachings of the Church regarding the regulation of births? (CCC 2398, 2399)

Some people will always complain, and accept negative stories because it fits their own agendas, regardless of what is actually said, and in what context.

Many very, very, devout Filipinos are poor (25%), and may not fully understand Natural Family Planning. The Pope’s message is they should feel no pressure to just have more and more kids, especially if they can’t provide for them. Rather, he shows them what the Church teaches, encourages those who have been spacing births (responsibly, and not out of a contraceptive mentality). In short, he is teaching about responsible parenting.

Isn’t this what a Pope should be doing?
