Christ’s words trump Paul’s words in my book.

Sorry you don’t seem to believe in Christ’s words — right?

Matthew 23:1-36 Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples, “The scribes and the Pharisees sit on Moses' seat, so do and observe whatever they tell you, but not the works they do. For they preach, but do not practice. They tie up heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on people's shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to move them with their finger. They do all their deeds to be seen by others. For they make their phylacteries broad and their fringes long, and they love the place of honor at feasts and the best seats in the synagogues and greetings in the marketplaces and being called rabbi by others.

But you are not to be called rabbi, for you have one teacher, and you are all brothers. And call no man your father on earth, for you have one Father, who is in heaven. Neither be called instructors, for you have one instructor, the Christ. The greatest among you shall be your servant. Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.

With respect Salvation, Paul’s words ARE Christ’s words. He KEPT SPEAKING AFTER THE RESURRECTION. through his apostles.

You have the wrong book, because there is NO competition. Jesus was addressing his people, Israel. The entire scope of Matthew for instance is the Kingdom of Heaven, a temporal kingdom with Jesus as the King. Jesus, through Paul, was addressing children of God who are neither Jews or Gentiles, but one Spiritual Body. Its really not hard if you set aside your religious traditions and simply read God's Word, allowing the Holy Spirit to reveal His Truth.

If you fail to discern the difference between what is written to Israel, and what is written to the Church, you quickly end up in the religious ditch of confusion and error. That was the point of my earlier post.

Sorry you don’t seem to believe in Christ’s words — right?

When you can't discuss intelligently, poison the well, right?

>>Christ’s words trump Paul’s words in my book.<<

So you don't believe that those words by Paul were actually the words given him by the Holy Spirit? Or is it that you think the Holy Spirit would have disagreed with what Jesus said?

Sorry you don't seem to believe that the words of Paul were actually the words of the Holy Spirit, right?
