A march against "Islamisation of the West" is due to take place in Dresden, with turnout expected to reach about 10,000 in the eastern German city.
A big counter-demonstration is also being organised, similar in size.
Dresden is the birthplace of a movement called "Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamisation of the West" (Pegida), which staged a big rally a week ago.
Justice Minister Heiko Maas called Pegida's protests "a disgrace". But the Eurosceptic party AfD is sympathetic.
"Most of their demands are legitimate," said Bernd Lucke, leader of the conservative Alternativ fuer Deutschland (AfD), which has campaigned for a tougher policy on immigration, as well as rejection of the euro.
In the western city of Cologne, about 15,000 people attended a demonstration on Sunday to promote tolerance and open-mindedness, under the motto: "You are Cologne - no Nazis here."
Immigration has become a hot topic in Germany this year, amid a surge in the numbers of asylum seekers, fuelled by the wars in Syria and Iraq. Germany takes in more asylum seekers than any other country.
Germany expects 200,000 asylum claims for 2014, up from 127,000 in 2013.

Secretly arm Pegida and have the police hang back. Let what happens happen.
run em into the oceaan salute!
Speak up now Germans. Be bold, not shy. A complete cultural takeover appears to be the intention of the Islamics. They have no intention of becoming Germans or Westernized in amy way. Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme! (Sleepers Awake! J.S. Bach).
Die Wacht am Rhine
Yes, they need to pull together, but against radical Islam this time, vs the French. I think a current performer Heino has performed and recorded this song.
Er ist Kein Kindergarten Krieg... Er ist Vernichtungskrieg!!!
Ich bin ein Bernd-Lucker
I have read that the unemployment rates for Turkish women was about 13% as opposed to about 10.50% for men. So maybe women, especially young unmarried women are more flexible about fitting in, just as a way to become gainfully employed. I have to give many of the immigrants credit for learning the language. German and Turkish are quite different linguistically and sequentially.
Where do I sign up for the American version?
Deutcheland Erwache! Deutcheland fur Deutchelander! Muslims raus!
Ja! Du hast recht. Das is erst das!
I'm sorry, but the SS reference was in very bad taste.
“The few Turkish women I have known seem a bit different than women from other Muslim countries. Maybe Germany should send the men home and keep the women.”
Turkish women - in Turkey - are more westernized than Muslim women from Arab countries. In Germany, many Turkish women have flourished. I’m all for keeping the women - after they’re converted of course. Let’s start with these:

“”Where do I sign up for the American version?””
Good idea!! But somehow good ideas never turn out the protesters except in this case in Germany, it seems to be working. Good for them.
One of my all-time favorites!
J. S. Bach is the Godfather of some of the sweetest Earworms ever written down! I say that as someone who grew up listening to Motown during it’s wonder years. I was listening to the Brandenberg Concerti early last summer, and long after I moved on to other driving music, it was hard to stop hearing certain passages from that collection. They would surface own their own, unbidden, like theme music to my daily routine. I still hear a few, (like the Double Flutes in #4, or the Harpsicord solo in #5) and that’s okay.
two part Invention #8 is so cool that it is used in a commercial for i forget what.
But i don’t forget the tune! LOL!
Synchrony Financial uses it, with an elder adult on the deep keys, and a very young child on the high keys in a duet.
