Keep in mind that you are trying to communicate two concepts that are foreign to the catholic mind - Christ’s statement about His ekklesia and people being directly connected to Christ through faith.
They do not have a frame of reference for either.
They believe in a physical, worldly organization that stands alone in entitlement.
To fill this spiritual vacuum they must substitute tradition for unchanging truth, change Mary into a benevolent and loving step-stone to a relationship with Him, add pagan worship practices, a priestly class, idols to parade around as they are alive and powerful, etc.
It is always worth sharing the truth, but no human likes to have their sense of reality invalidated. Their only response is louder claims of authority.

Once someone comes to Christ in faith, as you know, it is evident that the claims are not only false, but circumvents the Gospel.
Share in love. Those who remain vocally anti-Christian identify themselves as the most in need of prayer.

Tis too much the case. Cults and ac certain class of charismatics also do so, yet even they do not imagine they can hear virtually infinite amounts of prayer addressed to them in Heaven!
Fitting, though i believe this part was originally intended to be a parody of Christian belief in God, with Dorothy telling the wizard he should be ashamed of himself for scaring people. Te real think will be what souls can only wish was imaginary.

Then, when thousands of apparitions fill the skies, claiming to be Mary, claiming to offer the peace of God's kingdom to pagans and Muslims without the cost of conversion to Jesus Christ, and Rome comes along and sets the capstone to this by proclaiming Mary co-redemptrix, as dogma, virtually certifying her deity, no matter how much Rome's defenders here deny it, how hard it will be for those who have made that choice to come back to the simplicity of the Gospel as proclaimed in Scripture.
