Is Prayer/Veneration/Worship to Mary Biblical?

The reason for this article is to determine if the worship/veneration given to Mary by the catholic church is justified from a Biblical perspective. This will be evaluated using the Biblical standard and not man’s standard.

For example, if that woman was healed thanks to her belief in Him and that simply by touching Jesus' clothes she would be healed, well...what of the woman who carried not yet baby Jesus and gave birth to Him, raised and cared for Him, etc.?

What you've quoted in bold is my speculation while regarding the infinite God's infinite power and things of Him and the Holy Trinity that are beyond my comprehension, as with any of His Miracles.

So, I'm still not seeing what you're trying to show me. Could you be more specific?

Should we place limits on God? If so, what would they be and why would they be?

“I LOVE the Eucharist” A weak substitute for Jesus Christ, the Saviour of the World. No sign of you ever saying I LOVE Jesus

The Eucharist IS Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world, so sad that you don't understand that...

Pauline Soteriology. Would will the Twelve Apostles judging on twelve thrones say about that ? There was a reformed theology from Luther and others who created a new religious movement without divine authority almost five centuries ago. Obviously Romans was not clear to them. Since you have pledged yourself, as it were, to the reformers, and I rest in the holy catholic apostolic church, we will not agree and await the judgment of Messiah and the Apostles.

Why is it many FRoman Catholics seem so incapable of seeing others without placing them in tidy boxes with labels on the outside? Neither SR nor I "pledged" ourselves to the reformers. All we've been trying to do is show the reformers were NOT the originators of the doctrines of sola Scriptura and sola fide but that these were clearly taught IN scripture and were held by many of the very first church "fathers". How is it you can just ignore all the quotes and references that have been posted which proved that?

You have determined you will "rest" (pledge yourself?) in the Roman Catholic church. Fine, who's stopping you? Just as long as you acknowledge that there has been a development over time in your church's doctrines and many were unheard of in the early church and were NEVER taught by the Apostles. Can you do that? You presume your church has the "divine authority" to determine what is the truth - even in matters of faith and morals - and you place your faith in that view even in the face of contradicting or absent passages of Scripture. Again, you have that freedom - no one is going to burn you at the stake. Just know that you WILL be held accountable for the light you have been given and how you respond to it. You will not be able to deny that - and neither will we. I'm cool with that, are you?

WRT Pauline Soteriology, can you provide documentation that proves there was a comprehensive and official Roman Catholic doctrine on justification prior to the Council of Trent that authoritatively states we are justified by faith AND works? Because you cannot, we know that the RC condemnation of the Reformation doctrine of sola fide as a deviation from, and a "theological novum", established RC doctrine is bogus. Like Jaroslav Pelikan wrote,

When the reformers attacked this notion in the name of the doctrine of justification by faith alone—a doctrine also attested to by some medieval theologians and ancient fathers—Rome reacted by canonizing one trend in preference to all the others. What had previously been permitted (justification by faith and works), now became required. What had previously been permitted also (justification by faith alone), now became forbidden. In condemning the Protestant Reformation, the Council of Trent condemned part of its own catholic tradition." (Jaroslav Pelikan, The Riddle of Roman Catholicism (New York: Abingdon Press, 1959), pp. 51-52)

Even on this website, there is more discussion by Catholics about Mary than there is about Jesus.

quickly go back and read the question that is the basis of this website.....Protestants make baseless and meaningless accusations and Catholics are merely justifying their honoring and not worshiping Mary...

I know why it appears you must denigrate all who
oppose your chosen religion.

Well, tragically, Mr. Stanley could not stay married to a woman to whom he committed his life, until death do they part.

While I know of the divorce; I do NOT know any details.

Who filed?

Any re-conciliation tried?

Who is at 'fault'?

I've seen examples of what you wrote, which is fascinating, but don't see "protestantism is a vast intellectual wasteland".

I think it is incomplete in some ways, while getting the main things right.

That common ground between us should be enough, but obviously something else gets in between us and so we fight about it.

That we fight about it gives me very strong suspicions about the identity of the real agent who is encouraging our misunderstandings, accusations and the battles that result.

None of that is coming from the One we Christians all agree we follow. That's not His stuff. Nope, that's the enemy's trademarked style and verified by the results.

We have far more to agree about than fight about, and if our egos could be silenced long enough for us to hear what God has to say so softly, we'd stop ourselves.

Let us pray.

Mary!!!

Listen up!!

Here come some MORE!!!

Let's try some easy math:

There are approximately 1.2 billion Catholics world wide;

If merely 1% of them  'ask' Mary for help just once each day;

that means that 12 million separate prayers are headed Mary's direction every day.

Given that there are 86,400 seconds per day... (24 hours times 60 minutes times 60 seconds)

...that means that Mary has to handle approximately 139 'requests' per second!

Purty good fer someone NOT 'divine'!

Two different filings...one try at reconciliation. “Fault”? No immorality on her part, rumors on his. She gave up on him. But, this is not his only problem. He teaches a free will world of self-determined salvation. That tears it for me. And the Freeper trying to trot him out doesn’t care about good theology...just Roman promotion.

“Mary is the Queen of Heaven because she is the Queen Mother, or mother of the King of the eternal, redeemed Davidic Kingdom, as recorded in the Bible. “

More Mariolatry. The Scriptures:

Never give her the title, Queen of Heaven
Never give her the title, Queen Mother
Never give her the title mother of the King of the eternal

Nor is the woman in Revelation Mary. It is Israel.

Prots have difficulty accepting the truth

What else should you expect from ignorant bigots who are not loving Catholics??

Gal 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, meekness, self-control; against such there is no law.
