The reason for this article is to determine if the worship/veneration given to Mary by the catholic church is justified from a Biblical perspective. This will be evaluated using the Biblical standard and not mans standard.

The Mary of Catholics is not the Mother of Jesus The Catholics knew, honored and loved Mary for about 1,600 years before there was even 1 protestant.

>>we need to find our common ground of love and praise for Him.<<
Common ground cannot be established with those who contradict the word of God. When Paul was teaching how to deal with people who persisted in error and taught things contrary to what they teach he instructed that we were not to associate with them. Read the letters to the seven churches in Revelation.
One of the things you will see in those letters is that God hates the Nicolaitans. If you look in Strong's concordance #3531 you will see that the word Nocolaitans is made up of three Greek words which together means "one who is victorious over the people". That is what the "hierarchy" of the Catholic Church is. It's basically the Pharisees of the Old Testament. There is an article here which goes into detail. That is only one of the ways the Catholic Church has violated the word of God.

Wow. How can they deny they woship Mary? The proof is there for anyone to see. protestant misinterpretation of Catholicism is proof of nothing...I don't understand chemotherapy so I NEVER comment on it either favorable or unfavorable....I'm not qualified, and you aren't qualified to comment on Catholic behavior unless, or course, you are a Catholic.

Mary was so insignificant to the Christians alive at the time no one even cared enough to keep track of where she lived out her last days. Not the secular writers, not the religious writers, not that apostles, not anyone. The Catholic Church itself acknowledges the fact that no one knows. Catholics should take a hint.

Thanks CB for the link!
And don't forget the Sadducees faction that was negatively influential at that time.
(Sometimes, it appears RC contrarians on FR RF are responding with computer-generated or cribsheet answers. Just deny, deny, deny, and always say the exact opposite of what a Christian says. Frequently doesn't seem like I'm communicating with a rational human...but rather a machine.)

And I hope one day you RCs all give 100% worship and praise to God and God alone. There is NONE other. we do, and did so for 16 centuries before the protestants showed up to set us straight....We also honor Jesus' mother
To: CynicalBear
And the final two paragraphs at the link you provided us...
RANK and HIERARCHY The approbation of "ordinary elders" demands a set of elders who are extra special, thus creating "rank" in the otherwise Divine brotherhood, all of which DESTROYS fellowship, creates division and strife, and fosters envy. It is no marvel that Jesus hates this, condemns it, and demands the guilty repent.
The question is will those who follow the ways of the Nicolaitans repent? Yes, some will when the tribulation is on. Others, however, will stick to their ecclesiastical crowd, vainly imagining that their boasted "superiority" will carry them through that time of the greatest trouble the world has ever known, or will know. They must go down with the rest of the hosts of Antichrist.
About the Nicolaitans

A rather stark warning to Catholics I would say.

It sure sounds like catholicism says "Mary says do it and Heaven hops." HEY, we know how strict those Jewish mothers can be!!!!!
To: CynicalBear
And other cultic world-wide organizations claiming to be Christian.

The Bible notes One person, and One person only, as being sinless. All others have sinned. Jesus Christ. see the danger in self interpretation of the Bible???
To: ADSUM
Darn, you beat me to that post, I was just going to say that....honest!!!
To: ADSUM
It may not change your mind, but it will provide a clear understanding. many on this thread do not seek clear understanding, they seek justification of their usually errant interpretation of scripture and Catholic dogma...

The “Father” of the Mary spirit is not the Father in Heaven, he is Satan.

Were you to read all the RC comments in rebuttal to what the RCs have been told this week alone, you would understand that FRoman Catholics have varying understandings of RCC doctrines.
There in no RCC consensus on these FR threads. It’s largely denials of everything posted by Christians to members of the RCC. Even things of little consequence.
I presume you are one of the assigned RCs for this evening because of the number of your postings lately. Please try harder tonight to give honest responses instead of the usual rehearsed, canned, or formulaic kneejerk quips.
