you ascribed a title to Mary not found in the Bible....Blessed Mother.

As the mother of our Lord and Savior, was she not blessed?

If you read the catechism of the catholic church you'll find she does have super powers.

OK, humor me. Where does it say in the Catechism of the Catholic Church that Mary has superpowers?

(Wow, commenting on this thread was like stepping onto a hornets' nest. lol)

Mary was blessed among women. All generations will call her blessed.

However the words used in Luke are not adjectives as the catholic church has now applied them.

Luke 1:28 and Luke 1:42 εὐλογημένη, translated as "blessed are" or "are blessed" in our English, is a perfect passive participle.

It is from the greek verb, εὐλογέω, meaning I bless, I am blessed. Various forms are used 43 times in the NT.

HELPS-Word Studies notes the following:

The general meaning is used of God blessing people and His people blessing Him.

As this is in the passive tense we have to keep in mind the perspective of the writer. When Luke wrote this, all of these events had already occurred. So from Luke's perspective Mary had already been blessed when he wrote this.

This wasn't some blessing given to Mary at birth.

OK, humor me. Where does it say in the Catechism of the Catholic Church that Mary has superpowers?

Thus as no man goeth to the Father but by the Son, so no man goeth to Christ but by His Mother." (Vatican Website:  Encyclical of Pope Leo XIII on the Rosary, Octobri Mense, Pope Leo XIII, 1903-1914)

Contradicts John 6:65..."no one can come to Me unless it has been granted him from the Father.

....wavering beneath the cross, and lasts until The eternal fulfillment of all the elect. Taken up to heaven she did not lay aside this salvific duty, but by her constant intercession continued to bring us the gifts of eternal salvation. By her maternal charity, she cares for the brethren of her Son, who still journey on earth surrounded by dangers and cultics, until they are led into the happiness of their true home. Therefore the Blessed Virgin is invoked by the Church under the titles of Advocate, Auxiliatrix (helper), Adjutrix (benefactress), and Mediatrix. This, however, is to be so understood that it neither takes away from nor adds anything to the dignity and efficaciousness of Christ the one Mediator." Vatican II, Dogmatic Constitution on the Church, Lumen Gentium, Solemnly Promulgated by Holiness Pope Paul VI, Nov. 21, 1964 , #62

This is also a contradiction of the Word. The Holy Spirit is supposed to be our Helper and Advocate (John 14:16, John 16:7, John 16:13, Romans 8:26-27. Jesus is also our Advocate.(1 John 2:1)

Mediatrix of all Graces 1921 Pope Benedict XV We are then, it will be seen, very far from attributing to the Mother of God a productive power of grace - a power which belongs to God alone. Yet, since Mary carries it over all in holiness and union with Jesus Christ, and has been associated by Jesus Christ in the work of redemption, she merits for us de congruo, in the language of theologians, what Jesus Christ merits for us de condigno, and she is the supreme Minister of the distribution of graces. Jesus "sitteth on the right hand of the majesty on high" (Hebrews i. b.). Mary sitteth at the right hand of her Son - a refuge so secure and a help so trusty against all dangers that we have nothing to fear or to despair of under her guidance, her patronage, her protection. (Pius IX. in Bull Ineffabilis).

Another contradiction of the Word....no mention of Mary sitting on the Throne.

The pope just last week or so noted Mary was the teacher of authentic theology. Again in contradiction of the Word as noted above.

No where.

And yet Catholics ASSUME she does.

Why?
