Is this tactic something you've been taught by your chosen religion; or something us Sola Scripture kinda folks who do??

No, I'm just looking for honest people. I think most of the population think that religious people, in general, are hypocrites, deceitful, obfuscators, cannot be relied on to tell the truth straight out, etc. It is like pulling teeth without medication which is rather odd, given who they profess to know and follow. And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: 22Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: 23Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously: 24Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
