Simple. There is no way to bear the God-man and not be the mother of God. I long ago asked about how many persons Jesus is. If He is ONE Person, then Mary is the mother of God because Jesus is God.

There are three persons which comprise the One God.
The third you left out.
The Holy Spirit.
So to be completely accurate, Mary gave birth to the Holy Spirit also.
How interesting to give birth to the Person that caused you to be with child.
