When you say, I say Mary bore Jesus, not GOD, youre saying that Jesus and His divinity are two separate persons. Jesus is not two people. He is ONE. Women give birth to persons, not natures. Mary gave birth to ONE Person - Jesus, God.Oops, one person, Jesus, God?
There are three persons which comprise the One God.
The third you left out.
The Holy Spirit.
So to be completely accurate, Mary gave birth to the Holy Spirit also.
How interesting to give birth to the Person that caused you to be with child.
“Oops, one person, Jesus, God?”
No oops. Jesus is God. Mary gave birth to Jesus, God.
“There are three persons which comprise the One God.”
Yes.
“The third you left out.”
Nope. I omitted nothing that had to be said. I only mentioned one Person - Jesus, God. The comma does not mean more than one person. The comma simply allows the statement that Jesus is God without always having to say “is”. This is obvious to those who know basic punctuation.
“The Holy Spirit.”
Again, nothing that had to be said was omitted. I did not mention the Father or the Holy Spirit since I was talking about only the Second Person, Jesus.
“So to be completely accurate, Mary gave birth to the Holy Spirit also.”
No. The Holy Spirit never took on humanity to be born into the world as a singular person both divine and human. Jesus did. Mary gave birth to one Person, not two. That one Person had two natures - divinity and humanity.
“How interesting to give birth to the Person that caused you to be with child.”
That’s not what happened. It would not surprise me that a Protestant would be so confused as to think so, however.
