The Catholic Church must help parents stand by their gay children, Pope Francis said in a new interview about his papal ministry. The pontiffs comments come a day after Francis urged top church officials to pay attention to the signs of the times and listen to ordinary Catholics, according to The Independent.
We come across this reality all the time in the confessional: a father and a mother whose son or daughter is in that situation. This happened to me several times in Buenos Aires.... We have to find a way to help that father or that mother to stand by their son or daughter, he said in a wide-ranging interview with the Argentine daily La Nación. While it is important to find ways to welcome gay Catholics, gay marriage is still not on the churchs agenda, Francis said.

One-world church in tandem with a one-world politically-correct governing system is coming on us sooner rather than later, it appears.
The million dollar question is what does it mean to “support” these families and the gay child. If it means not throwing the kids out on the street and letting them know that the family still loves and cares for them, I agree. If it means buying into a gay rights agenda and supporting libertine gay sex, then I disagree.
The Pope has made it pretty clear that he is opening the Church up to Homosexual Catholics. This is commissioning LGBT...

I didn’t become a Christian to be trendy.
What is wrong with “hate the sin, love the sinner”
He’s quite busy de-sinifying, and neutralizing every bit of traditional values that he can. Soon it shall be known as the “10 Suggestions”.
True Christians have always been kind and treated all sinners, including their own children, with charity - but without compromising the truth. That doesn’t mean lecturing them every time they see them and creating an atmosphere of hostility, but it does mean that they have to be honest about certain things: not participating in gay “weddings” or “commitment services,” for example, and not encouraging or permitting overtly gay activities or demonstrations in their presence. And in cases where they have some input - for example, if their child announces he wants to be a she, or if a grandchild is being pressured by a gay parent to be gay or cross-dress or anything similar, they have the responsibility to speak out and to do anything they can to oppose it.
In terms of support from the Church, it also means that the clergy has to be firm in rejecting homosexuality. In fact, they should be not only firm but vocal and pro-active in opposing the lunatic “gender” theory sweeping this country, where the person as created by God is made to think that there was some mistake made by God and that therefore he or she should and even must use all modern chemical and surgical means to pretend to be other than what they were born. This is utter insanity and yet I hear nothing on it from the Church.
But I don’t think this is the kind of thing Pope Francis wants to hear from the new, improved Church.
Are you surprised?
“Who am I to judge?”
Sign of the Times: the king with the support of his bishops wants to be a serial adulterer.
Sorry Saints Thomas More and John Fisher - you didn’t read the signs of the times.
Sign of the Times: Most bishops don’t believe that Jesus was True God.
Sorry St. Athanasius, you didn’t read the signs of the times.
Sign of the Times: the Parisians want to worship the “Goddess of Reason” instead of the True God.
Sorry Carmelites, you didn’t read the signs of the times.
Etc., etc.
Yeah this is the big problem. The sin that cries out to heaven for vengeance is now being promoted as a societal good, and what do we need to focus on? Parents supporting their kids. Instead of coming out with a syllabus of errors, instead of denouncing the heresy of Sodomism, we need to ease the flagrant sinner into his familial situation like a nice comfy chair.
This pontificate is a train wreck. Let’s hope it scares the Cardinal Electors straight.
“Hate the sin, love the sinner” seems to always end up “Accept the sin, be indifferent to the soul of the sinner.”
There is no allowing of hatred of sin in this culture. Feelings trump everything. If a person feels they want to sin, God and his messengers are ordered to overlook it. Scripture must be condemned. Everyone must be made to feel good about their sin and its effects on the rest of the world.
To hate the sin would require a return to a complete non-acceptance of it. There is no loving of anyone that aids and abets their slavery to sin.
Those who can’t completely comply with the demand to end all talk of sin are given little slogans to help shut them up: Hate the sin, love the sinner. It is just one more tool used to control and change. But make no mistake, the meaning of love and hate must be entirely redefined.
It’s pretty amazing that so many STILL believe what our present-day ungodly “journalists” want us to believe.
You ain't kiddin' livius. I've had Catholic friends on Facebook post congratulations of this sort after attending such abominations.
Now I ain't no moral theologian, but I am pretty sure attending and supporting one of these things is a mortal sin in itself, between giving scandal and being an accessory.
You want to address an issue Francis, address that one.
If they cannot distinguish a person from their sin, then they are insane too
This pope is a crappy leader. The Cardinals that voted for him must be regretting their choice.
There was a post about why South America is rapidly becoming non Catholic. Many tried to say it was the changes in the mass, or the orientation of the altars.
But this is a prime example of what is really going on. There is no doctrine anymore.
