Dad is going in to the hospital tomorrow for treatment of atrial fibrillation. They are going to try to shock his heart back into rhythm. If that doesn't work it's a pacemaker.
Dad is 87, an Army Vet, wounded in an explosion in 1946 in the Phillipines while the US was supporting the Phillipine gov't during the Huk rebellion after WW2 .
Mom and my sisters are upset.
He's the most honorable man I've ever met and he and Mom are my best friends. They've been married 64 yrs.
Prayers! Pacemakers/defibs are lifesavers, so if they have to insert one, it is a great thing!
Prayers for your father and family. God has a plan, so hang in there! Regardless of the outcome, you and your family are not alone.
Prayers for your Dad and entire family.
Will do, Eagles6. Know several people, as well as a relative, who either had the shock treatment, pacemaker, or both; and everyone of them continues in good health. God bless and comfort you, your Dad, and family.
Prayers up for your Dad, and the whole family.
Prayers lifted....
Dad is home and doing well. Apparently one shock put his heart back into the correct rythym and he was soon harassing the poor nurses and techs with his corny jokes.
Though I can't thank each FReeper individually please know that your heartfelt prayers are deeply appreciated and I know they helped.
Prayers that the A-fib does not re-occur
Thank you.
Good to hear!
Prays Sent, Glad to see it went well, May God continue to Guard and Guide You, Your Father, and Your Family and My you’ll fulfill his Holy Will.
God Bless
Prayers sent!
Way to go, Pops! God bless.
Hello... I just saw your post, and am praying for your Dad, you and your family. Trust in God and in the prayers of those around you: whatever God’s answer, know He loves you all with a love beyond our understanding. May He bless all of you!
WONDERFUL! Praise God! May He continue to bless you and your family!
Good news! My mom and my dad both have had a-fib; my dad is permanentyly in a-fib so he’s on blood thinners. Amazing how they can handle it these days.
