ISTANBUL (AP) — Pope Francis stood Saturday for two minutes of silent prayer facing east in one of Turkey's most important mosques, a powerful vision of Christian-Muslim understanding at a time when neighboring countries are experiencing violent Islamic assault on Christians and religious minorities.

The idea that an interview with a journalist would have any magisterial authority or significance at all is just laughable, regardless of what website it was posted on or how long it stayed there.

It’s fascist to go running to the principal when we aren’t even in their school.

Its irrational or desperate to charge one with being a facist because he chooses to debate an absurd statement on the RF, which is given to debate, and pinged the subject of your scorn - like you should.

Why would you resort to "facist" charges, rather than backing up your claim?

Do you have any use for mods - or government - or is your protest a case of principal dissent like as the church and American began under?

there will be a one world religion, I think catholic and islam churches will merge.

There are many who will leave when that happens, but revelation is clear.

The problem is that Pope Francis is publishing it in book form (in an anthology of papal interviews). He clearly intends to promote his statements to a wider audience.

Well it must have some significance to the Pope who authorized the interview to be published on the Vatican’s website.

By the way, what has Francis proclaimed that has any “magisterial authority”?

Cardinal Burke has even questioned the magisterial authority of Evangelli Gaudium.

Discuss the issues all you want, but do not make it personal.

The default browse is ‘Everything’ - if you do not select News/Activism you’ll probably end up on another Religion Forum thread down the road.

I just added the topic "politics" by clicking the "click to add topic" button.

Topics can evidently be added at any time.

This one started off in Current Events alone. I know because I checked. My stalker added the other topics.

Whenever you put it in religion you put everyone at risk of being banned by the religion moderators. The religion moderators do not tolerate ideas that differ from theirs.

My experience is different here.

OF course!

Whining and playing the victim card does not work for you.

Lombardi said Francis told the mufti twice that Christians and Muslims must "adore" God and not just praise and glorify him.

HMMMmmm...

Micah 6:8
He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

John 6:28-29
Then they asked him, "What must we do to do the works God requires?
Jesus answered, "The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent."

1 John 3:21-23
Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him.
And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us.

James 1:27
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
