Next question:   Who Founded All These Protestant Denominations?

It is quite instructive and enlightening for all of us to take a closer look at some of the more prominent heroes and other major figures who founded or extensively developed some of the countless Protestant denominations which currently exist, all of which were invented many centuries (about 1,500 years or longer) after the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ.    (Some of those Protestant denomination founders and leaders are shown here, each of whom, as a founder/developer of a brand new denomination, is still held by many of their followers today to be the final, ultimate, infallible, supreme authority for the correct interpretation of the Holy Scriptures, the "Bible".)

The best way to profit from this exercise is to first take a quick look at some of the "images and likenesses" of these individuals, then search for their names on the internet to find a link where you can read a little bit about them and what they've done, or what denomination they founded or helped develop.    All of these individuals studied the Bible, then came up with their own unique, contradictory, mutually-exclusive, incompatible biblical interpretations, and their resultant conflicting teachings and doctrines, all claiming to be interpreting the Holy Scriptures under the infallible inspiration and guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Next question:   Who Founded The Catholic Church?

Jesus Christ, Founder And Head Of His Catholic Church, With His Specially Chosen Assistants
(Music - "Twelve Apostles of Jesus Christ")

"And I say also unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build My Church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it."   (Matthew 16:18)

A Special Prayer Of Jesus Christ That The Holy Spirit Wants All Of Us To Know About

(Song -- "They'll Know We Are Christians")

"I do not pray for these only, but also for those who believe in me through their word, that they may all be one; even as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.    The glory which thou hast given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, I in them and thou in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that thou hast sent me and hast loved them even as thou hast loved me."    (John 17:20-23)

"The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness, on them has light shined."    Isaiah 9:2

Not meaning any offense toward you personally, but the premise of your posted article is false. I’ve never attended in a single church during the past 40 years that recognized any of those people as the “final authority.”

I think you will do better if you seek out facts for yourself and think about what they mean, instead of posting something that is poorly written and false.

Aimee Semple McPherson was a hoot. Her disappearance into the Pacific ocean surf followed by her walking barefoot into the US from Mexico and the silly lies she told to explain it (kidnapped by a couple named Rose and Steve) were hilarious.

Catholics just can’t get the “man” as the head of the church out of their head can they? They have been so indoctrinated into thinking carnally they think all people need a stand in for Christ. Pathetic.

I am neither a Roman Catholic nor a Protestant, so I don’t have a dog in this fight — but one major problem with what you have presented is much of it is ahistorical. Where is Henry VIII’s body of work in theology and exegesis? Charles Wesley is remembered as a hymnodist, not a theologian, and even his brother John is revered by Methodists more as a founder of a tradition than as an authority. A collection of his sermons, along with his amended version of the Anglican Articles of Religion historically set Methodism’s theological emphases, but a lot of Methodists pay no attention to them, if they are aware of them at all. Another thing is that many of the people here would not necessarily identify themselves as Protestants, since they saw their own movements as being distinct from the work of Luther, Calvin, Zwingli, and the Anabaptists. That is certainly the case with Mary Baker Eddy, and the same case can be made for some Pentecostals. Even some modern-day Evangelicals debate on whether or not they are Protestants. Sure, some of the people pictured here started out as Protestants, but they didn’t end up Protestants. If starting out as a Protestant is how someone is to be measured, then you may as well have included Brigham Young, originally a Methodist, on this list.

I have only heard of 2 of them. They had nothing to do with my salvation. Only Jesus and the Bible do that. For people who say they believe it, some show they do not have a clue. It seems like y’all are trying too hard to make your point. Why not post “good news” threads instead of trying to divide people. Isn’t there enough bad news in the world today without y’all adding to it? Think about it. I am a Protestant and proud of it and nothing said on here will ever change that.

The Final Authority

I’m tickled that you have your heart rested on Christ, if indeed that is where it is, and not rested “on a church.”

That’s what is going to count in the end, long after this world is gone. Everything you do will be rooted in God. It won’t be rooted in a bunch of human souls, even perfected souls.

You’re looking at Protestants as though they carried on their worship of Christ in a Roman Catholic manner... But what if they didn’t? What if they had the audacity to say they do not need a pope, they might look to Luther (or Calvin etc.) for helpful information but he will never be a pope.

Comity between Protestant denominations is often very extensive. They recognize the Christ in what the others do, and only disagree on details.
