Apparently, "Teen Mom" star/stripper Farrah Abraham's recent trip to Houston's Lakewood Church had an impact.
The reality star turned porn star was spotted in a Texas airport this week reading a copy of Lakewood pastor Joel Osteen's bestsellilng book "You Can, You Will."

And why shouldn’t she? There is nothing in Osteen about sin, repentance and salvation.
Instead she will learn to think more highly of herself and that will do nothing but encourage her to believe that if she believes in herself enough she will reach the pinnacle of her, ahem, profession.
The fruits of his ministry.
That’s her fault, not Osteen’s. If it’s possible to misread the bible itself, how much more a motivational preacher.
If and when she’s ready to embrace God, God will be there.
Not because of Osteen, but in spite of him.
One of the girls from Teen Mom is into pornography?? Really??
what ever happened to the Duke girl who allegedly has to do pornography because Duke didn’t give her enough financial aid?
Well, it really is in spite of any preacher, who is a sinner just like the rest of us.
Well, that is true.
But a preacher who preaches sin, repentance, salvation etc. if likely to see more than one who preaches whatever it is Osteen does.
Many like to watch her work, but perhaps the rest will get to enjoy watching God work through her and raise her, as He has done with others throughout Scripture.
Or, we could just trash Osteen some more!
But first, let's get Mirandized:
What you say can and will be used against you in the Court of Law, in the Court of Heaven, and tried by the Judge Himself.Better to consult with your Advocate first before saying anything you will come to regret.
(It's not Osteen who needs defending on these threads.)
“Whatever it is”?
Don’t you at least follow Osteen enough to understand the things he actually speaks of?
I’d be among the first to holler tilt if he or anybody else said that perversion was okay with God — no, it ain’t okay with God. But I’ve only seen arguments from silence. That comes perilously near the way Jesus was accused of being a glutton and drunkard.
Some people don’t know how to apply the gentle touch in the right place, they can only beat on people who already are gun-shy. We have lots of acid comments by Jesus towards respectable preachers. I don’t see any towards prostitutes.
If he billed himself as a feel good motivational speaker, he would be fine.
I wonder if he has considered that Jesus was called a man of sorrows and that each of his disciples were martyred. I wonder if he even knows that.
It’s true, it is the manner in which God addresses sinners. Sometimes there is the storm; sometimes there is the still small voice.
Is there a frightened little girl still living in this supposedly happy professional strip artist? God can see it. Those who grate and prate can’t.
If Jesus were to preach in our churches today he would not be crucified....and there would be no salvation.
And are you worshiping sorrows and martyrdom?
Those things were undergone in order to bring joy to others.
**Dont you at least follow Osteen enough to understand the things he actually speaks of?**
I do.
And it certainly isn’t Christian.
Oh yes, he would be... for being too gentle. He might be viewed as coming too close to an Osteen.
I suspect you don’t.
Wouldn’t that mean salvation wasn’t necessary?
**Some people dont know how to apply the gentle touch in the right place, they can only beat on people who already are gun-shy. We have lots of acid comments by Jesus towards respectable preachers. I dont see any towards prostitutes.**
we also see Jesus speaking of sin to the prostitutes. He tells sinners to follow him and stop sinning.
The only sin in Osteen’s enterprise is not believing in one’s self.
Oh but I do.
Both learn the same Scripture, but with one, the more they know, the heavier the knowledge makes them.
Rather than raise them via their better nature to hear and then follow Jesus example, the knowledge makes them sink down into the muck, where they form teams and do battle with each other.
Fascinating.
