Not defending Osteen, but I have to say, if one listens long enough, I'll bet a case could be made about anyone.

Look in the phone book under church(s). What is it that you see?

Scores of denominations within the protestant faith that all profess to be Christian. They all teach various doctrines of the faith...do they not?

If you tawk to a Baptist, many will denounce the teachings of this or that church.

Another example, Catholics believe (not all) that protestants are not the true church therefore subject to being led astray.....and vice versa. Many protestants believe the Catholic church is led by satan and the false prophet will rise through this church.

Just a few thoughts, not taking sides one way or the other. I belonged to the Episcopal church for many years, I left because I believed they were heading down the wrong road.

Point is Osteen doesn’t preach anything that looks Christian.

I travel a lot and worship in churches other than my denomination. More unites Bible believing churches than separates us.

You wrote, "Just a few thoughts, not taking sides one way or the other. I belonged to the Episcopal church for many years, I left because I believed they were heading down the wrong road. "

I understand when you had to leave the Episc. because they were "heading down the wrong road".

But, it's interesting, because it got SO BAD there that you were forced to "take sides".

None of us here want to be mean to Joel, just to be mean to Joel, or because we are "jealous" of his house, his hair or his church.....

It's because he is "heading down the wrong road".

... and he is dragging MILLIONS of people down "the wrong road".

What all those denominations have in common is they were birthed from the mother church-the roman catholic church..

and that is their problem- they accept the false premise that the greco roman Latin mother church represents the Elohim of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and His Beloved Son Yahshua..

They do not... everything, right down to the greco roman latin name they use for the Hebrew savior, can be studied and explained away as a greco roman latin construct.
Dare one say a counterfeit or false savior..

That would really mess with the Joel Osteen’s program as much as the pope’s..

But the whole foundation of Christendom would be at stake with that study...

Not necessarily.

It's not an accurate conclusion to come to that just because there are different denominations, that they all interpret the Bible differently and that there are thousands of interpretations of Scripture.

There are a few areas where there are major differences, but there are many areas, that are not matters essential for salvation, where there is liberty to believe as you will. That even exists within Catholicism, as evidenced by the number of *rites* that exist in it.

The Bible (God's Word) is the sword which divides what is of the flesh, from what is of the Spirit. As long as we follow it, we have no problems. Joel Osteen, and many other false preachers now days, use it only as a stage prop without ever opening it... "This is my bible. I believe what it says..."

The Church is made up of believers, not one particular denomination or the Catholic church. We protestants may belong to different denominations, but anyone who has given their life to Jesus Christ and lives to obey His word is part of the “Church” spoken of in the Bible. And this includes all Christians throughout the world.
